Now, we currently have the Cobb Accessport for $495 plus shipping. Option 1 (+$100) : We can upload a map on the AccessPort before it gets shipped out based on your local elevation, mods, and available gasoline. Option 2 (+$395) : We can ship out (with a preloaded map if necessary) the AccessPort and have our clients data-log and email that back to us for us to tailor the tune more precisely and email it back to the client. (Many times if necessary for your current setup) We will charge this fee again after additional modifications are made to the vehicle. (Maybe at a lower price depending on the significant changes the mod or mods will make) Option 3 (+$595) : A completely custom and accurate tune on our in-house 4WD capable DynoJet Dyno. This will give us another source for A/F Ratios at the tail pipe as well as what the Cobb AP sees with the factory A/F sensor. We have run a special sale on APs which came to an end on 03/20/2010 which included the Cobb Accessport, shipping (UPS Ground), and Option 1 for the price of $495 (for 48 states) which made it a fantastic deal. That Sale has ended and no longer valid. (Although we might run it again in the future) I hope that this clarifies the different options that we offer with the Cobb AccessPort! Please PM for more details or questions! |

Well I decided to pull the trigger on the Canned AAM Competition tune. I installed the tune via the Cobb AP last night after work. The car feels like its running better in every way. After adding the HFC and CBE my Z felt sluggish in the low RPM range loss of torque. That has been corrected big time, a lot more torque in the mid and low RPM range. I have a very long highway commute to work and boy did I open her up on the highway today. I have the auto and have noticed quicker shift response much smoother engine sounds at any RPM but very smooth at the top 6000-7500 where it use to sound a bit harsh. Every gear seems more useful again due to more torque in the mid and low end.
For those with the 370z 7AT this is a must have if you have bolted on the HFC or Test and CBE. An unexpected plus is the downshifting when in Manual mode. The car use to shift very hard into 2nd then 1st when coming up to a stop sign (Letting the car downshift on its own in Manual Mode). I don’t feel this anymore just nice downshift no abrupt gear change. Thanks again Mike and Clint for hooking me up with this Canned AAM Competition tune. The Cobb Access Port is a great device loving the data monitoring and performance monitoring, I can finally see what my car is actually doing!

What would make me pull the trigger on the AAM $495 deal would be knowing that Cobb had cracked VVEL

That's also what I was wondering/waiting for. But, could you not download the new data after the fact, assuming you install the current AAM maps?
