At Ft. Bliss, they have a weigh station at the landfill that we use to dump stuff, my car with 1/4 tank of gas weighed 3281, I then added my weight and there's your number. Also if you do the dyno in a low gear, the torque numbers are going to be astronomical, I did one in 2nd at 2k to 7k with a weight of 3600 lbs just to see how crazy the numbers would get, 580whp and something like 980 ft. lbs, lol, do your run in 4th gear. Keep in mind these numbers arent near as accurate as a real dyno, just for a little fun. I was screwing with one of my friends and set the weight at 4000 and did a pull in 3rd, i got something like 800whp, he believed me :D

I just wanted to say that this thread is the reason poor ZSteve has to wait another week for his AP, apparently lots of forum members have been buying these things up, I think AAM needs to give me a damn good discount on the next thing I buy from them!

I called AA today and they told me they were all sold out, sold the last five a fews days ago. And they are waiting for another shipment to come in from Cobb I assume. Said it should only be a few days before they come in. They said they wont charge your card or whatever you paid with till they ship it to you.
|
I just found out about Cobbs and thought I'd do a search on the forum...Red, I see you're a huge fan and you're right, they need to give you commission or something for all the free press. This AccessPort sounds so cool! I might jump on this. Hope they sell to Canadians...keep seeing USDM on their website.
So can you address cam timing, redline RPM and speed governor with this? |

Maybe I missed it, but is there an additional charge for additional custom tunes as you add on more bolt ons? I currently have Berk hfc's, and just installed some Cobb Silicone tubes (I figured better than short air intakes and stock setup, although not near the Stillen G3's). My next bolt on would be an FI exhaust, but i'd be willing to get this first if it helped my current setup and I was able to re-tune after I get the cbe.

I got mine today and flashed it to the AAM tune. unfortunately I live in the bay area and just tried to do some dyno runs but there's way too much traffic still at 10pm. this weekend I'll go out late night and get some before/after #'s.

[QUOTE=Red370;442635]Ha, i did my first Cobb "dyno" pull, I made the goof of not compensating for my additional weight in the car and set the weight at 3232, and because I cant legally do any high speed runs, I set the dyno to begin in 3rd gear at 2k rpms and finish at 7k, Here are the results.. 312whp at 6525 rpms and 255 ft./lbs at 6057, now I was pretty happy with this because if i added my weight and did the pull in 4th or 5th gear up to 7-7.5k, the numbers would have been much much higher. Modified recently did a test on a handheld tuning device to see how accurate the digital dyno is and they were within +/- 2whp and same for TQ, not bad I say, NOT BAD AT ALL!! heres a pic, sorry for the quality but you can see the numbers.
How is the virtual dyno feature? Obviously it wont be as precise as a true dyno, but is it close? Does it have the feature where you can download the dyno sheet yet? COBB Tuning Blog AccessPORT : Virtual Dyno feature |
Well I got my accessport today and loaded it up and I have to say that I can feel a difference in tq down low and it feels more responsive now too. Even when driving at speeds like 45 and you step on the gas it gets going quicker. There are gains there thats for sure. Worth themoney for the gains and the other functions the device has.
I monitorede my intake temps for awhile and all I have are the K&N drop ins and while driving my intake temps were 8 - 10 degrees above ambient temps. The stock air box does well. My AFR stays in the 14s pretty much thru out too. |
time to go find that turbo neon now :)

Ive messaged aam about the tuned cobb ap and they havent gotten back to me yet. Are they still running the 495 ap with map deal? Im thinking about just doin erz hfcs and the ap since it would seem to produce around 30-35 whp for under a grand. Add a
stillen exhaust later on. |

Ordered mine last tuesday over the phone with Rob but haven't heard back anything since. He said he was getting a new shipment in on wednesday and would have them out by the end of the week.
