The problem with swapping motors these days is that the car electronics are all programmed for the stock motor. So swapping for an LS isn't as easy as making it fit in the engine bay. In fact, they say the toughest part is fooling the computers and electronics to recognize the new motor as stock.

now.........

LS2 engine swapping, is this a mockery or a serious suggestion?

would anyone do it on their new 370z?

i guess there is no limit as far as burning money............

nothing better than FI for the bang for the buck...... but definitely NOT cheap........

Yep, just got done reading an article where Hennesay put the LS9 in a Camaro, they stated that 90% of the time was not spent transplanting the engine but working on electronics. I think he stated that at one point the radio was talking to the ECU giving it info.

Well considering the LS engine is a rather good engine it is a popular mod, not so much in a brand new car but still popular. The thing about the LS mod is the torque, with forced induction on the Z you get some torque but nowhere near the same as on a LS engine.

I give the guy props for getting this setup to...'cough' 'cough' work.... but I personally would not do this butchary to my Z :shakes head:

I read that article too...I was not impressed. Camero was 20k more than the ZR1, 100 more hp, 150 more lb-ft but WAY less performance.

That is the first thing I saw after I read it.
"Wow, the Camaro lost in every race or trial and costs more, hmmmm, which to choose?"

You might be surprised but a LS2 engine swap on your Z with a few bolt ons will definitely outperform the boosted VQ37 in the performance, reliability and cost departments.
