Code U1024

Well shortly after having flashed my ECU with Uprev , I don't know what happened .
I got the check engine light then I went to see the code , it gave me U1024.

I have no idea why it came out , I was just looking around in the program to familiarize with it. I tried to erase it with Uprev without success.

that is from EC.pdf in the Service Manual

U1024 CAN COMM CIRCUIT
Description
CAN (Controller Area Network) is a serial communication line for real time application. It is an on-vehicle multiplex
communication line with high data communication speed and excellent error detection ability. ECM and
VVEL control module are connected with two communication lines (CAN H line and CAN L line) and transmit/
receive data. ECM shares information and links with the VVEL control module during operation.

Anyone have an idea about this ?

U1024 is Data Link Communications error on the TCM. Prolly gonna have to bring it in. You can't erase that code because it is being instantly regenerated because the problem is within the actual system that comunicates with the device to interface with the car.

Could be a loose connection or it could just be a bad TCM. There could even be something with the uprev device that is causing your vehicle to throw the code I suppose.

I reflashed back to stock and the code went away then I put Uprev back in the ECU.

I didn't do a test drive to see if it will come back , its gonna wait till tomorrow.
I'm thinking it might have came up because the only way I was able to flash it , was by turning off and on the car and 1 out of 10 I can process the flash. because I'm having a hard time to flash the ECU and also plug/un-pluging the USB.

I have like 12.5v when the car is not running and Osiris keep telling me to shut-off everything *accessory, heated seat,,,,,* but everything is off
I do have Lojack and another anti-thief protection.

if you think battery voltage is to blame hook up a charger set for 2amp slowcharge and flash it then.

I went to APH in Toronto for some runs on their Dyno , when it was time to flash the ECU he got the same problem that I had , we tried the charger and battery pack , nothing worked beside the method I was doing .

quite annoying having to start and turn of the car and try to flash the ECU ..

I emailed Uprev about it last night and same with Brian @ APH , he told me he would call them up .

wait and see

I still haven't got back the code U1024 , might have been a bug somewhere.

well from what I've seen, it's depend on the car , some seem to run very lean and get big result from tuning session and some others just get like 5hp more.

but yeah those numbers are quite nice :)

It sounds like there was some sort of interruption while uploading the file to your ecu. Try uploading it again, you should be fine.
