So when you change out your OEM "CAT" to High-flow or test-pipe, if you get CEL, you cannot bypass?

(UPREV) ? I wonder if they are going down the same road? or being forced.

Spooler 03-29-2023 02:09 PM

Everybody knew this was coming.

Who the other big tuner software? I forget. I wonder if they are going down the same road? or being forced.

That's pretty much the tl;dr of it.

UpRev? I'm not sure what their status is on the EPA crackdown.

I figured it was coming since Cobb did the same thing. I just didn't know if people saw that announcement giving actual dates now.

I thought some people use a “J-bung” on the test pipes so that the sensor isn’t reading the accurate value and so the O2 sensor functionality can remain untouched.

Am I wrong?

If the tuner wants to stay in business. He will be doing this to. :shakes head:

No, but I think it still happens. (what I'm reading anyways)

Ooof, I'm mid tuning process right now with my car and am very worried what this will mean for my setup. I'm hijacking O2 sensors for ethanol and oil pressure inputs, and have a decent amount of DTCs I should suppress.

Maybe this will kickoff more standalones or at least open-source options.

If you can find a stand alone. The prices have shot up.

So how will this work for those who use Ecutek in different countries where the EPA has no jurisdiction?

The GTR forum has some answers. Link: https://www.gtrlife.com/threads/ecut.../#post-4175966

One of the Q/A from a tuner:
Q- Who is affected?
A- If you have a non USDM ROM file in your car (JDM, Asia, Middle East, Europe, Australia, etc), this does not impact you in any way. Note the change is USDM ROMs. Not "USA Based Tuners", or "Cars in the United States".
If you have an existing tune, this does not impact you in any way.
If your vehicle does not have non emissions compliant modifications, this does not impact you in any way.
If you are starting a new tune in the end of May, your tune will no longer be able to have emissions codes disabled.

Thanks for the info thedreamer wish I could get the airflow upgrades and a touch up tune done by then... its hard to sell an exhasut system where I live but I need to do that before getting another one...

I'm gonna assume Canada falls in the "USA" category.
