Ecutek and Dyno tune cost?
I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to car mods and such. Anyways I got my Z about 3 months ago and plan on doing a few mods. With that said I contacted a local shop about installing an FI exhaust and FI high flow cats and they said they will need to tune the car to make sure it I don't get any CEL codes.
So I'm wondering if the following is a fair price? Ecutek license : $300 Programming kit, dongle and cable: $350 Tuning labor/dyno tuning (up to 3 hours): $650 |
That 650 tuning cost must include the labor for installation of exhaust too...?

Tuning your car to make sure you don't get cel codes is a boatload of baloney. You don't get cel with a proper install. If you plan on more breather mods hold off on the tune. Price wise 650 for the tune is fair.

I thought that was a bit much just for tuning labor. |
No the 650 doesn't include the install. Install is like another $200.
And I was planning on holding off on the tune until I did other mods since this time it's just an exhaust but the 650 seemed like a lot to me that's why I was wondering. |

Is it that bit long for a simple bolt mod to tune? I know tuning cost varies, 100 to 140, from shop to shop |

You can pick up the bluetooth kit and dongle on Amazon. Why use the cable when you can get the full blueooth functionality and cable in one piece?
