Burble "POP" Map with Seb
Hey Guys,
I know there has been some members( Including me) looking to have a burble"POP" option on their tune. I'm really interested in this because when I had my 335XI I had a "Burble" option on my MHD tune and absolutely loved the burbles and cracks on deceleration. So I am install Z1 HFC's tomorrow and ask Seb to refresh my tune for the HFC's, and I asked him about this option. Looks like he has one but only for guys running TP's :/. We talked and and I'm going to work with him on an option for use with HFC's, Stock Cats I'm not sure but will ask. |
I'm pretty sure all of the backfires will destroy the cat material... could be wrong though but why not just get a resonated test pipe?

I wasn't looking tor backfires, I was looking for burbles/pops on decel and off throttle costing.
:( So ECUTEK doesn't offer the parameters to produce the othese. I'm actually really shock and disappoint that they do not offer this. I mean the MHD software I ran on my BMW was brand new and had the option ;/. I guess we all have to wait for ECUTEK to make those available. |

Why do we want this?

I actually have this as my fourth map. RT tuning threw it in with my BP kit and tune. Ecutek as well. I would say contact them and let them know Adrian sent you. Maybe they will be able to help.

Because it is something I like, I really dislike the sound produced when down shifting. |

I just had seb do mine and think I got the hang of it. With VDC off use throttle to the desired speed and then let off, get back on throttle roughly 10% and hold and it will pop and gurgle? while the car decels, it appears its set to ignore the first 10% of the peddle in a predefined pattern for the pop and bangs..
Alternatively, you can have VDC off and downshift with synchro-rev and some extra heal toe to get the big backfire and pops if wanted. ALSO if anyone is looking for rolling antilag/launch I have some possible good news from ecutek... Hi Tyree, I can't share features, but the guys are working on the updates now. I would say release would be in 2 to 3 months. Do you have a timeframe for this new phase work for the 370z or any features you’ll possibly be working on you can share with me? Again thank you in advance for understanding the need for rolling launch/antilag for the 370z and overall attention from ecutek for the vq37vhr in general. Tobin Sinc Tobin Sinclair (EcuTek) 22 Jun, 12:48 BST Hi Curtis, Thanks for contacting us. We are about to embark on some more development for 370Z so we will be looking at additional features. We are not aware of anyone using EcuTek who has this feature so I shall certainly put it forward for this round of development. I have a few people that have expressed interest in this for the vq37vhr platforms. If this is not something you have added directly in custom maps is it something you have witnessed done and could I reach out to the partner to discuss it with them. It works, and I manage to get some incredible pops, bangs and sometimes huge fireballs that last for 4 to 5 seconds at times. A couple of times, I've seen the very tip of the flames in my back window! No joke! Anyway, even though I love the effects of this tune, because it IS very effective, I don't particularly care for the way you have to apply it. If you need to decelerate, you either downshift and coast or start hitting the brakes, NOT applying throttle. I would much rather this tune do all of the popping and crackling and flamage without having to do nothing more than simply dropping a gear and the car/ECU doing the rest, or even doing all of that while in the same gear as long as you're high enough up in rpms. If Jaguar can do it from the factory on their F-Type's, and if other tuners on other vehicles can do it, I see no reason why it can't be done with our motors and ECUTek. I am NOT saying that Seb is incapable. Not saying that at all. He's one of the best out there. The rolling anti-lag/launch thing would be pretty cool as well, especially if you don't need forced induction to do it. Also, to answer the question as to why someone would want the burble/flame tune on their car?.. I wanted it because it makes the car seem a bit more serious, that it means business and is not just "slow and show" as some like to think about the Z. Which it AIN'T slow either. |

" That was exactly what I was hoping for also. I will have mine removed when I get a chance to get another log of my tune with HFC's and send it to Seb. For me - I don't like it because I over 4K a lot and and touch of the pedal I get the popping :/ |

I just don't like having to apply 10% throttle while slowing down to activate the burbles and flames. That to me is just stupid, counter productive and somewhat dangerous. |
I would get a bit of a pop on stock cats stillen cbe on an ecutek tune. Always when it downshift rev to ~3k rpm id get a bit of a pop. Subtle and nice.
No more now. Rip my z |
