Default Ecutek, GT with revmatch, downshift problem

Hi, i recently had my 370z GT tuned with an Ekutek mastertuner in Abu Dhabi after i fitted a fast intentions exhaust and AEM intakes.

Everything is perfect except i seem to have lost all engine braking below 5000 rpm. I know all the arguments against downshifting an automatic but sometimes its necessary and frankly the revmatch takes most of the shockloading out of the equation anyway.

For normal driving i usually downshift at low rpm well before i need to brake, literally so the engine cruises down and theres no need to brake for the corner, this style doesnt load the car in any bad way at all. Problem is after the tune, if you do this the revmatch blips the throttle to say 4000rpm and then stays there with no input from the throttle. You can see the fuel flow on the status page remain at about 10 to 15 l/100km. If you downshift at a higher rpm to force the revmatch to go to about 6000 or anywhere above 5000 then the engine braking is there like it used to be then you can feel the fuel kick in at 5000 rpm, the car almost feels like it accelerates as the braking effect is lost and you suddenly have to press harder on the brakes. This is the same when im on the track and threshold braking, the brakes are good but you can still notice the assistance given by the engine when it disappears.

No big loss i thought until i took the car to some nice mountain roads in Oman, drop it down a gear going downhill and you might aswell put it in neutral and free wheel down the hill. Queue brake fade and skid marks (i dont mean on the road).

Does anyone know if there is a setting within Ecutek to put this back to normal that my tuner doesnt know about, he doesnt seem too interested in looking into it.

Pm me I can help you troubleshoot. There are many settings in ecutek that may cause various issues like this, it’s difficult to say what the problem is without knowing what he did to the calibration.
