Check my Dyno results, seems LOW?

Went to a tuner here in Australia for their Dyno Day, and to see and try out my first ever Dyno run!

My 2015 7AT Z is bone stock besides the wheels and springs, has 21K miles on it, and I think my results seem much lower than what I was expecting:

I only went to try out the Dyno because the Dyno day was cheap and I wanted to see what my Z does before I throw on the AAM TT kit. The above Dyno is a Mainline Dyno which apparantly reads 15-18% than most other popular Dynos here in Australia. But I am not sure on this as I am completely new to the dyno tuning world.

So that 173.1 kw is around 232 HP +~18% = 204 kw (273whp)?
The tester said my Z felt very torque'y, it just wanted to go when ever he touched the pedal.

What do you guys think?

Bossman; You're getting dyno'd in the wrong trans. gear...it say's 3rd.
that's a 2.04:1 ratio....not even close to a true 1:1.
4th gear is 1.41:1 vs. 1.27:1 for stick-shift Z's.
5th is 1:1 in both.....most tuner's do 4th because of the speed;as in a base w/3.357 diff,that's still just over 120mph.
That's what is throwing you a curve....i'll dig mine up with a 4th & 5th gear pull.
K&N drop in air filter's is only mod at this time.

Yes I thought about something like that could be the reason for low reading. the Dyno I went to have never dyno'd Zs before, so maybe they didn't know this? Ontop of that I was the last in the line for the Dyno run, they have been Dyno'ing cars all day through their so they were probably tired AF when they got mine lol.

Anyways, I will message them tomorrow to let them know.

Your 273whp guess is actually close to normal for a stock Z and looks like he stopped at 6500rpm. There's another 1000rpm left on the table!

Oh yeah, just realised that.

But also, just because there is another 1000 rpm left to Redline, does that mean I will see more power?

Are all dyno pulls done to Redline?

Interesting... your A/F ratio is identical to mine.

I think that fuel curve is too rich to get great dyno numbers.

Notice how Hammond is running right at 12, you and I are both at 11.5.

I expect mine to be about 12.5 after a tune.

Our engines make power to redline.

The 4th gear pull was to around 7300 & the shift light flashed & he backed out;
The 5Th gear pull was to till the speed limiter kicked in @156mph

Mine is tuned at 13:1AFR wot.

Hmm interesting. As a dyno tuner I thought they would know all this.

Now I feel like my results are a bit of waste because it was not done complete and properly?

SG4247 08-19-2017 06:17 PM

They probbly know this. They just want to play it safe and not hurt your engine.

That graph i posted was not a dyno-tune,,,just a buddy of mine whom own's a speed shop w/nice dyno.
When i was tuned @Z1 Motorsports after all my bolt-on's...it was twisted to 7800 in 4th,
they wouldn't do a 1:1 5th gear pull because speed limiter is removed & will pin the needle in the corner.
Their Dyno doesn't support speeds above 170mph.....that was the info. i was given.

jchammond 08-19-2017 06:26 PM

And by my Tuned graph w/cai,tp's,tdx exhaust....No ported intakes or headers...the power curve was till around 7250 before it turned downward.

jchammond 08-19-2017 06:35 PM

Ok shadow85; I thought you were boosted; as I'm thinking your AFR will probably be tuned a bit richer than N/A.
Here's my last printout I have before my updated CAI. This was a 4th gear pull.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3f2728ea34.jpg
