Uprev questions (new intakes, MAF sensors)
Hey all,
A few years ago, my car was tuned with Gruppe-M short ram intakes with a set of MAF sensors in them (I bought them second hand). I then got an exhaust and got the car Tuned with Uprev. Recently I got some Z1 intakes, which were also sold to me second hand with MAF sensors. I've installed them (noticed zero changes, but figured they're better than shorties). However, I simply swapped the intake with MAF's as is over. My question is, does Uprev tuning adapt to this, or should I have used the MAFs in my old intakes? Do I need a new tune? My next question is about Uprev itself. My tune has selectable modes through the steering cruise control, however when a mode is selected, nothing changes performance wise? Does anyone know why that is? Lastly, the shop that tuned my car has disappeared. Can I get it tuned again at another business, or am I stuck for incremental updates and tunes? |

If both sets of MAFs were OEM, it makes no difference which set you use as long as they are clean. There may be some differences in the intakes, and personally I'd have it retuned to make sure I'm not running lean. You probably aren't, since the IATs are much lower with the new intakes and the ecu isn't dumping fuel to keep the temps down. I'd just do it for peace of mind. Unfortunately, I would also use the retune as an excuse to buy more mods, since I'm getting it retuned anyway. Your Uprev license is tied to the car. You can get retuned at any other Uprev tuner.

Kind of hoping a retune fixes the dismal low speed throttle hesitation the car suffers from. |

It's always a good idea to have your own cable. That way you can datalog and clear any codes.
Search around here for wstar's throttle map and take it to your tuner. It'll save him some time getting it dialed in.

Does it matter which cable is purchased? |
