So just wondering if there are any updates on this. I am not really concerned about gaining HP on a VVEL tune, I just want to see if it was cracked and how it got cracked.

No update, still in left field. Uprev doesn't want to be held accountable for the tuners that test the limits of the VVEL system when nobody actually knows what those limits are at this point. They stated this 6 months ago, so I doubt you're going to see much change with their software as it sits now, being used for air/fuel along with ignition timing.

Did any of you G37 owners get the TSB update with ECU reprogramming to fix the VVEL actuator bank #2 noise? I read that owners complain about losing engine responsiveness afterwards.

We got the TSB a while back probably 1 1/2 years ago. They updated the ECU to the latest ROM and gave us a complimentary oil change. I haven't noticed any sluggishness after the ECU flash was performed. By the way, they use ester oil in the free change. Once you go for your second change, if you don't use ester the noise comes back.
