Can you DIY tune with EcuTek?
I cannot find any info on this. But if I pay $900 for ecutek with the race ROM can I tune it myself? I can't imagine paying that much for a flash and then not having full control.

It's still a better software than uprev even if you have to go to someone to tune it.

Why would you e tune it rather than taking it somewhere?

Because I'm capable and don't need/want to pay someone else to do it. If I just wanted a fast car I'd go out and buy a new Giulia QV. It's about the process, not just going fast.
Maybe I'll buy a motorcycle for someone else to ride for me also. |

Dyno tuning time is usually included in the $900 or less price tag for an ecutek tune.

They apply their own encryption to the ROM I think. It's beyond the keys to get the ECU to dump the ROM over J2534. Then you have to know the locations of the maps in the ROM etc, and their tuner software does that.
I'd gladly pay the money for the software if I could modify the maps and settings. It's not easy to do what they did. |
