Since I finally got those darn Motordyne test pipes installed last weekend, I've been logging and flashing back and forth with Seb. I've actually made it a bit more fun as I've talked my girlfriend into going with me to do the logging and flashing as she gets to hold the laptop and hit the button to start and stop the logging.

Also, I noticed that Ventruck mentioned that the 3rd gear pulls should be started at 2500 rpm. Well, I've been doing mine from 2000. Seb never told me any different, so I guess it was alright starting there.

On a side note, I noticed today that when I upshift from 3rd to 4th at high rpms in Map 2, near redline, I get a nice hallow sounding "pop" out of the exhaust. Nice!

Starting earlier shouldn't be an issue. If anything it ensures you're logging the range he's looking for, with some extra sampling to observe.

I had my brother handling the laptop. No offense to anyone but doing it solo isn't the best idea.

This! I am currently in the process of a datalogging tune with Seb, and though, even with 4-6 logs to supply him, i found it a bit hard to try and keep hitting that record button-while still trying to keep my head up in traffic.

Bring a friend if you can.

When I posted this thread, I had SZ's basic etune. Now i am in the process of datalogging. I will update the first post with a review of the data logging with SZ.

Nothing but good news here!
Except the weather.. weathers been pretty bad lately. Cant get any logging done.

I replied to your PM.
I should go ahead and give an update and update this to the first post.

How did I feel with the basic etune? It felt nice, there was differences between stock.
To sum up how both maps felt of hot and cold.
Map A felt underpowered but smoother, as above- this is the hot map. Cant go wrong to play safe.
Map B felt rough, but buttdyno says yes to some power.

If you have the current bolt ons you are comfortable with, I would go straight to the datalog option. I thought i would put some more breathers; but decided not for a bit; which is why i went with a base tune first.

Now, onto the update of datalogging with Seb.
Turnaround time is still great. I have received a new flash today and I have been getting replies within 24 hours.
I sent my logs in with my base tune in the morning, if i can recall I received my first flash by end of day.

First flash: i have only driven on one map so far. 5 days of on and off seat time. I am not sure if seb touched the second, as my logging is currently on one.
i have asked him to turn down the throttle a little bit. Everyone that had tried to drive the Z isnt trying anymore due to complaints of the car being too touchy.. which is good. But I was still barely getting used to it after this long as well, so he turned it down a notch. Now new throttle is something I like! Much smoother with the response without the jerk from a stop or slow.
Power. Its definitely there. Everything is much more smoooooother. I would say butt feels the power of a much more smoother map B from the base tune.
And to think, this is the first flash. Excited for how much more to go!

Tomorrow the new flash will go in.

All I can say is that after all the tuning is done, by Seb of course, this car pulls hard. Completely effortless all the way up to redline. You can definitely feel extra oomph throughout the midrange, lightning fast throttle response, and silky smooth acceleration throughout the entire rpm range.

And with the combination of the Motordyne ART pipes and tune, there's absolutely no lack of torque on the low end. In fact, even before the tune, there was no lack of low end torque after the ART pipes were installed. Those pipes do a great job of retaining that low end torque.

Maybe one day I'll put her on a dyno and see what she's making, but it's no big deal. I don't build or drive my car for numbers, I do it for the fun and enjoyment of driving it.
Felix 808 and simul8r like this.
