UpRev Update ??

I spoke with Z1 to inquire about getting a tune, I was wanting to go with ECUTECH.. simply because they have more options..

But they advised me that UPREV is coming out with a big update and they are supposed to be up to par with ECUTECH if not better with this update..

Can someone confirm this???:excited:

Wonka2581 06-08-2016 08:41 AM

UpRev is supposedly 2 weeks out for the update to launch.. According to Z1..

jaytirbhaw 06-08-2016 09:13 AM

I heard this too. Although now most of us have gone over to Ecutek already

TerribleONE 06-08-2016 09:17 AM

Interesting. I will have to ask Seb about this as I am getting ready to go flex fuel finally and it would be nice if I could just stay with Uprev.

Anyone have more details?

I know from Z1 it will have a 2 step/launch control function. Nothing else has been released though

UpRev is going to have adjustable launch control

They won't have full of ignition control, flat foot shifting, traction control, closed looping fueling, the ability to go flex fuel or control boost.. Software is very very different.

People with UpRev should be happy with the updates, but Ecutek is still hands down the better choice

imjello 06-09-2016 10:24 AM

sub, i am still in the UpRev boat

Zero dark 06-09-2016 03:26 PM

I was told it would have flat foot and flex and rolling anti lag

seymore4 06-09-2016 07:02 PM

The update they're releasing Monday is launch control for all manual transmission Z/G's, adjustable parameters include:
- Launch control enable.
- Launch RPM fuel cut & restore. (Adjustable with cruse switches.)
- Launch AFR target.
- Launch ignition target.
- Launch throttle position min. (So it only activates at WOT.)
- Launch min speed. (So it deactivates over a set speed. )
- Engine Temp. Min/Max setting. This feature, won't allow the activation of 2-Step, if the engine is bellow or above, set limits

When launch control is active the user can increase or decrease the launch RPM in real time using the cruse control toggle.

This is the first release in their special feature package which will include flat foot shifting, ethanol content tuning, boost control, speed density, anti-lag, etc

GaleForce 06-09-2016 09:27 PM

So it might be worth while to hold on to my upRev for a little longer.

RadioFlyer 06-09-2016 10:57 PM

Will these new features be available as an downloadable update for those of us who already have the tuner cable? Or will we have to buy something?

seymore4 06-09-2016 11:26 PM

You will have to contact whoever tuned your car once the update is released, I have posted all I know

Wonka2581 06-10-2016 06:10 AM

So is ECUTEK still a better choice??

Until uprev gives you total control over timing, ecutek will be better.

Got ya, That's what I thought. But when I spoke with Z1 the person I talked with seemed like UpRev was better... Was kinda pushing me towards UpRev..

This will all be dependant on the tuners preference......some are more comfortable with UpRev than EcuTek....I've heard about UpRev making an update since last year...if they are coming out with these features than it would be awesome for those with UpRev...But Chuck33079 is right...having control of the timing is the deal breaker between the two.

What if I tuned my car myself with a tuner cable? Would I have to get it from the vendor I bought the tuner cable from?

imjello 06-13-2016 02:58 PM

Osiris A.R.C. 2-Step - Engine Management - Store

gomer_110 06-13-2016 03:47 PM

This is complete B.S. and just proves ECUtek is the way to go. Seriously, $100 extra for this feature. So going with this school of thought, by the time you buy a tuner cable/license ($775) and then pay $100 for each "premium" feature (2-step, flat foot shifting etc.), you'll be over $1200-$1300. :shakes head:

So much for sticking with uprev.

RadioFlyer 06-13-2016 04:29 PM

Well, it does say this:
-------------------------------
"If you purchased Osiris Standard or Tuner, from our web-store(or second hand), we can add the 2-Step Feature, to your current tune. You will need to email sales@uprev.com with your Order# in the subject field. This is currently only available for the 370Z and the G37 manual transmission models. Include your ECU part number (23710-?????) and/or copy of your ROM file in the email to sales@uprev.com "
------------------------------

These are all included in the extra $100, 2 step is the only one officially released tho

I saw that but the way I read it they still expect their $100 but instead of having to get a new tune they just take your current tune and add the feature.

Even if it's $100 for all the features I feel like they're just trying to squeeze for everything we got. IMHO this should just be part of the Uprev tuning not something extra.

bleunetizen 06-14-2016 05:25 AM

i was thrilled for a bit thinking that they may have finally found a way to properly control the ignition timing.. My car has zero knock (NA) and cannot advance the timing enough, I think uprev is not that great for NA dudes out there.. havent tried ecutek but people seem to praise about its ability to control timing so I assume they have proper ignition timing control

its just that ecutek do not sell user tuneable kit for individuals, and i prefer tuning my cars on my own.

cameronZ 06-18-2016 04:22 PM

So just bought the uprev launch control add-on from Seymore4. I will be posting a review of it soon, stay tuned! ;)

I assume this is only for cars with SynchoRev...

seymore4 06-18-2016 09:48 PM

They say all MT 370's

ChaseZ 06-18-2016 11:40 PM

Well that's interesting.
Even ECUtek's website says theirs is for SynchoRev only. If this really is the case that it works for any M6 then that pushes me back in uprev's court. Sounds like something I'd love to try out.

flashgordon 06-19-2016 04:42 AM

I just updated my uprev.

I download a new base ROM: 1EL5B.

I just copied all tuning data, and.....

Now there is a Launch Control Option !!!!:tup:

Dude, it's $100 for all the features. The ARC license gets you everything upon release. I cant believe the information some of you spew out. UpRev is made in the US bro! Dont be so mean, think before you speak.

Yes, this is true, my friend has it on his base model Z, no syncro rev on his, and he has launch control.

denchan350gt 06-27-2016 11:06 AM

You need a pro tuner/cable to turn it on though. You turn it on in the settings like you do with ETC. There is a on/off toggle for it.
