I don't really know that much about tuning a car, I've been reading up about uprev and ecutek here but there a few things I don't understand. So first; if I want to get my car tuned do I have to prepare it in anyway? Do I buy the tuning software and cable and then get a tuner to do it? Do I just take it to a place that tunes it? Is that the same as a etune?

Steve,
I don't know your knowledge of newer cars,,,but i come from the old school era. (jetting carbs,reading plugs,etc...)
Then they came out with the hand held tuners for some....but now-it's all Laptop.
Mine has not been tuned yet-due to very limited bolt-on's;
But First #1, Find you a local shop near you (100-200mi. for me) that has experience with tuning a 370.
Dyno Tuning seems to be the best-with pretty much unlimited access to all calibrations & settings.
The Tuner will most likely steer you in the direction of the software that he/she has most experience with.
They usually get all the stuff you need & you will have to pay a 1 time license fee (around $300) and then you're ready.
Experience really pays off with the knowledge of the tuner....they know what initial settings they can start with/pending your additions.....Tuning will also help a bone stock car.
So,,,,,,Research the forum for a good tuner near you & go for it.....some of the members on here may actually tune their own cars.
PM me if you need any more imfo., i'm sure other's will add to this.

Hey Steve,

Depending on where in PA you are, we may be a close option. We are just north of Baltimore.

As for preparing the car, make sure their are no leaks, no weird issues, top off the tank with good gas. On a newer car like the 370Zs there is not much you need to do prep wise normally. On a fresh built car we always give the customer a little check list to go over before it gets here, that way we are not wasting anyone's time.

We( and most tuning shops) can provide all software, and cables needed so all we need from you is the car and some time.

We deal in both ECUtek and UPrev with many years of experience on the Nissan platforms.

Shoot me a PM or a call at 410-593-7080 and I would be more than happy to help in any way I can!
