Nismo tune coming soon

So my friend is in the airforce and he's on base in japan, he has a 350z so hes real intreseted in our cars. In Japan nissans already released a HIPRO performance tune from nismo which is said to be by far the most advance ECU tune

Sounds good

feelzpwr91 11-11-2009 10:52 AM

yea man its legit, the most tourque ever displaced by an ECU

RCZ 11-11-2009 11:28 AM

No offense, but I'm going to call it garbage early and on the record. Pointless Garbage that will make no power, but plenty of extra cash for Nissan.

"Legit...Most torque displaced by an ECU" - Priceless.

Makes sense to me. We've seen limited gains with a dyno tune on the 370Z but I've seen first hand the performance of a 350Z Nismo S tune. I was barely pulling on the car with my modded 370Z. It would be interesting to see some dyno results before we make any leaps. Could turn out to be complete BS but if the 350Z stock Nismo was keeping up to my 370Z I'm interested....

RCZ 11-16-2009 10:20 PM

Fric...no offense but full bolt on and tuned 350z are making like 270 at most... with those mods you should be able to romp on a stock nismo s tune.

Fric, did you go with Uprev for your dyno tune? If so, I (or RCZ) might be able to shed some light on the situation for you.

RCZ 11-17-2009 04:16 PM

^ Semtex, its the same deal with the Cobb...so if you have gotten tuned at all, then all you've done is tuned fuel trims.

All I got out of my tune is better fuel economy! oh and a valet map which is fun to show-off. :)

What's a valet map?

Valet map limits the rev to a certain amount, usually 3,000RPM so if you have to valet your car they cannot go for a joy ride.

Spartan 1771 02-23-2010 08:17 PM

I used to have that in my old IROC-Z, but it was built in to the UNGO alarm system. The car wouldn't go over 25mph.

I assume this is a feature of a replacement ECU.

It is in the ROM that Uprev will put onto your car with a tune from them.
Uprev usually provides a few maps you can rotate through, performance, stock, valet mode, and <1,000RPM. It does not require a full ECU replacement.

The Valet map sounds cool, but no performance gains when it comes to horsepower and torque? How much does Uprev charge for this?
