I opened this thread and also bitched about them like 2 years ago, Uprev and Cobb was the one who offered tuning software to the 370z platform and then Cobb left to focus on F/I instead. Uprev was still around but not much development going on the 370z which wasn't really needed because they knew that everybody would get the Uprev license and barely developed anything about the VVEL that still need to be worked on but it does work after knowing how the system work.
They went on to many other Infinity/Nissan platforms which prevented them to give much focus on the 370z. A year or 2 ago, an Ecutek guy showed up here with a whole bunch of feature that Ecutek would offer but from what Ive seen and read . the customer support wasnt great and pretty much disappeared for almost a year then the features that was planned actually came to life, with features rivalizing those from Uprev then they had that big update where they started offering feature that are usually only seen on standalone. Uprev has done nothing but removing from the beta testing the VVEL to the general PRO Tuner, including with limited end user support vs what I was use to in the beginning, back in 2009-2012. At this moment the only critical part of Uprev is that the customer can tune himself his ECU Vs Ecutek does not allow but only their certified tuner. Even if I plan to get another 370z as daily driver in the near future, Im glad that I sold my PRO Tuner cable. |

Just like when I started doing the 2step anti-lag on Uprev, it caused alot of commotion and people still haven't been able to do what I do, with ECUTEK or with Uprev. Uprev will surely be coming out with an update sooner or later, and I'm sure people will start the Ecutek vs Uprev debates and then Uprev take the gold until Ecutek updates whatever else Uprev did come up with. I'm not saying that the Ecutek isn't superior at the moment with more features, but how many platforms do Ecutek support? 6? Uprev support the whole range of Nissan/Infiniti vehicles. They even support vehicles in the Middle East that no one else has ever touched, nor will they crack the code for the Y61 Patrols for a long time to come. I just think it's really childish people go against a company that's been supporting them for years with very good customer support just because another software company came out with an update. Can't wait to quote people who slagged Uprev now in the future, when they start slagging off Ecutek and state Uprev is more superior. |

Whether or not they ripped me off is a completely different situation, (not the arguement here), but GTM was held on a Golden Throne till they started messing up. I respected them till they ripped me off. But that's what they did, rip me off. I didn't screw them over because Fast Intentions/AAM/Greddy came out with a better kit, I screwed them over coz they ripped me off. Uprev hasn't ripped anyone off. Have they? |

You have a right to your opinion just like everyone else on here...even if it is wrong. In the world of retail consumers rule and that is why most companies work so hard to create brand loyalty. Why, because consumers have the right to jump ship for whatever reason they want to...it's a shark eat shark world in the retail business and you are only as good as yor last sale period...so if I'm hearing you correctly it should be no surprise that UpRev has not done much for the Z, it's a small market if they are having better success with other platforms. Also, if you really understood what most everyone said, UpRev is a good product, but if you are looking for the best performance tuning software they are now number two in that category.
Lastly, if looking cool by sounding fast and shooting flame is your gig then more power to ya...Mine does the same thing but only at speed so if you are lucky enough to be in my draft...you will get flamed when I decide to slow down lol. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk

I think this is the most rediclous thing UPREV could have done. Don't try to work on the VVEL or for that matter even work on "Total" timing control, Now why would they want to do that. Their getting the buts kicked" IMO" by ECUTEK and they release fake cams :/.
And UPREV will NEVER be able to compete with ECUTEK on this platfom till they have total timing control. Just for that feature ECUTEK will make more WHP on the same car. I did the tests and pick up like 17 WHP just going from UPREV to ECUTEK and yes the car performs better in every aspect. The power always feels like its there. With UPREV I had to romp on the car first a time or two to get the most out of it :/ ...

Actually you wouldn't believe how many people are lining up to get this done.. No its not for everyone but there is definitely a market for it. Maybe not among this select group of 370z performance enthusiasts.. but within the whole Nissan/infiniti tuning scene there is
