Uprev to.....?
I am considering going from my Uprev tune to something else but wonder if the time, energy and money are worth it.
My car is every day draiver, has Stillen CAI and Stillen exhaust. With Uprev I'm running 326 HP and I think 296 torque on Dyno. I'm pretty happy with the car overall, just a little rough shift 1-2 and somewhat 2-3. Looking for better driving experience mostly. A little more HP would be fine but not a big deal. I'm coming from a 07 Mustang GT with Hertz shofter. The drive with that car ,sadly, was so much better than the Z thus far. Looking to get something like that shifting experience. Please don't flame. What are some of the option here please? |

I would suggest switching to EcuTek!

Hi John,
Could you explain the benefits a bit to me. I'm honestly very much a noob to Z tuning. Mustang tuning was much more straightforward and simplistic. |

You'll benefit in every way. You numbers are .
But you can use them just to compare. With those modes you'd be luck to be over 300 WHP

If you are disappointed with the shifting, why not address that? I put on a weighted shift knob, put in Redline MT-85, and added the Z1 poly transmission mount and my shifts great.

I have addressed the shifting with Blackline Titanium Knob but its just 201g. I've also put in TWM Short Shifter looking for the Hertz feel but that a no go. Putting in a shifter extension next, we'll see how that changes things.
Thank you for the link. I'll read up and see where from there. |

Your hp seem a lil inflated with stock cats but yes ecutek seems to be the new way to go. Im waiting to switch over as well.
No way your torque is 296 lol. Good luck!

To continue the original question; I have the same power mods as OP, also tuned on UPREV and curious about this latest version of ecuteck.
I see people posting saying " now vvel is unlocked ", but doesn't UPREV already have that feature? What am i missing Also for the non-sport Z, some of those features are unavailable, do you still feel its worth the $ to change over? thank you in advance for your input! |

Uprev cannot tune VVEL. Uprev can tune VVEL, but not many have tried. Ecutek supposedly does VVEL tuning better than Uprev.
What features of Ecutek are available to the sport model but not the base model? I'm not aware of any. I would recommend a little more reading on your part

False. look up the picture I posted a while ago on the difference from the Tuner Cable to a Pro Cable activated. Not every Pro Tuner knows how to play with the VVEL setting or confortable enough to mess with it. But it can be done without problem. I cant tell about the other ECU software that is avaible for the 370z, but they might have a different layout of the table to tune it in a better flashion than Uprev. Ive had Uprev since 2009 and yeah since a couple years, their support of the 370z is greatly lacking but they can tune the VVEL with the Pro Cable. http://www.the370z.com/members/megan...uprev-pro.html Last edited by Megan370z; 07-28-2015 at 12:23 PM. |

From what I understand, Uprev's interaction with VVEL is a joke compared to Ecutek. YMMV

Not many tuners have messed with it, as you mentioned. Props to you for having the balls to do so
