===============================================
- ECUTEK Wiki for the 370z -
===============================================

There are two different versions of ECUTEK software:
  1. ProECU - Tuning Suite - you want this version
  2. ProECU - Programming kit not avail for 370z
---------------------------------------------------------------

1. Off-the-Shelf Tune
- Suitable for a 370Z/G37/Q50 w or w/o a cat-back exhaust and stock-sized intakes.
- Price: $650

Features:
  • Raises RPM Limit
  • Improves Fuel Economy
  • Adjusts Ignition Timing
  • Adjusts VVT Timing
  • Removes Speed Limiter
  • Raises MAX Cruise Control Thresholds
  • RaceRom Launch Control
  • RaceRom Flat Foot Shifting
  • Four Way Map Switching - 2x 91OCT & 2x 93OCT Maps
---------------------------------------------------------------

2. Custom Tune - RaceROM
- Suitable for any modded 370Z/G37/Q50.
- Fine-tune adjustments based on data logs generated while on dyno.
- Price: $850

Features include all of the previous ^^, plus ++:
  • Map Switching - Rev counter indication of the four different map switch modes
  • Speed Density - MAP sensor based tuning with VVEL compensation
  • RaceROM Controller - Use the cruise control switch gear for adjusting calibration
  • Knock Warning - Check engine light flashes when knocking is detected
  • Per Gear Rev Limit - A customizable Rev limit for each gear
  • Launch Control - Adjustable Launch RPM using the cruise control (Manual Transmission models only)
  • Traction Control - Adjustable traction control using custom maps
  • Boost Control - Closed loop boost control using custom maps
  • Flex-Fuel - Ethanol flex-fuel tuning using custom maps
  • AFR Control - Closed loop target AFR control using custom maps
  • Fail-Safe - Protect the engine from any dangerous situations
  • Gauge Hijack - Display lambda, AFR, fuel trims or ethanol content on the oil temp gauge
---------------------------------------------------------------

If the Custom features are something you NEED. Then tell your tuner you want THAT version.
The Off-the-Shelf tune, does NOT include all features.

===============================================
- ECUTEK Tips -
===============================================

Make sure you have a good working relationship with the tuner you select.
  • Sebastian @ Specialty Z does an excellent job of tuning and customer service.
  1. Take advantage of the Adjustable traction control option, via Temp gauge hi-jack.
  2. Take advantage of low / med / high tune for different temperatures
  3. Have the throttle response changed to linear (stock is wacky)

just wondering if you can transition from " Off The Shelf Tune " to " Custom tune " by just paying the difference in price and using the same tuning software kit?

Let say I am all stock now with Off the shelft tune, then after a few months , I decided to modify performance hardware and want a custom tune.

I am curious what they mean by adjustable traction control. I wonder if they are able to adjust it to allow a little more slip? Would be nice for those damp cold mornings since right now it is so invasive the first thing I do when I get in the car is turn it off.

yeah, I'm not boosted and anytime I drive hard my lights are flashing and it slows down the motor. Even if there is very minimal slip. Seems the VDC is VERY conservative.

You're right, it is.

And yes, if you get the custom tune version you can have an adjustable-level traction-control system. Seems almost worth it just for that. *scratches chin

I will def let the group know how the e-tune goes, presuming i find the $650 anytime soon. Just hope i'm not another beta tester for products.
