That with your cable? I'm assuming so since they're linked and if that's the case I'll prolly buy it until ecutek becomes end user...

bullitt5897 05-28-2015 07:20 PM

No cable just the license. Topspeed motorsports is holding my license and can transfer it to the new owner.

That sucks that UpRev has axed the tuner version of Osiris. That means mine just went up in value or is now going to be worthless lol.

They raised the price to $775 so your tuner version is actually MORE valuable now. The only thing that changed was that they no longer sell the reflash licenses without the cable...

They never have offered end user VVEL tuning support with their software so not offering it now shouldn't be an issue, IMO.

So if you go to a pro-tuner you have to buy the cable now?

I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to buy cable, just curious. It's a pretty good diagnostic/logging tool for the money.

No, protuners still are able to sell you just the license, and will usually try to since that has the highest profit margin for them. What changed is that Uprev is no longer selling licenses direct to consumers without the cable

I didn't realize they would do that. How would you load it without a cable?

Another question for you. If I upgrade my license/cable from standard to tuner cable. Would I be able to use my cable to adjust other tuner licenses or just mine?

seymore4 05-29-2015 10:33 AM

Most shops won't even tell you about the reflash cables, they just sell you the license and dyno tune the car. When you call and ask about an "osiris tune" if you don't specifically ask about the cable that is what they are referring to. Pro tuner cables are able to hold multiple licenses and reflash/tune multiple cars.

You can tune any car that already has a license on the ecu with the normal tuner version cable. It is not locked to any specific ecu.

if you want to upgrade to Uprev, Uprev will give you a file that you will load into your cable to activate the Tuner version.
Yes your future Tuner cable will be able to tune other cars with Uprev depending if you have their file that was previously tuned or your will be need to download their base rom from Uprev.

not sure if the option of downloading any rom is available with the Tuner cable or if its a feature Only for the Pro cable.. you might have to email Uprev to obtain the new base file.

I talked with UpRev and they told me that as long as my rom file from my tuner is unlocked I'll have no issues. I just didn't want to ask them if I would be able to tune multiple cars cuz I wasn't sure what answer they would give me since they don't profit if me and a buddy share a tuner cable.

Re-word it not to talk about tuning, but mention you both have licenses and you have a tuner cable and if he has problems can you make minor adjustments so he does not have to wait on a tuner.
If they read between the lines you basically are asking can you tune the other car, but the view point is that you want to help a friend fix his cars tune that might be shoddy or causing issues.

Not a bad idea. I thought about just having the agreement that he's in for half and I'll refund him the money if it doesn't work.

Now if I could just find away to make it look like a wedding expense:rofl2:

They won't sell it to you even if you have a cable we have one and won't sell the license. Both me and my tuner called and he's pretty pissed because he's not a pro tuner and just does a few 370s there is not a lot here to do. I know of like 4 decent ones in my area now if you expand to lower ms la and fl panhandle then there's more and clubs but not much were I'm at. A lot of evos mustangs chargers challengers etc... You see some base zs but not a lot of modding or they hide lol

My tuner was looking at the software before we go uprev and he said well damn that's disappointing looks like Uprev has the maps but still unchangable.

I read the GTM was working on cracking VVEL. If that's the same company for turbos aern't they dead in the water at the moment?

Anyway I'm just trying to get the right software the first time since it's not cheap anyway around it. However it is kind of disappointing if it's still not cracked. I thought I read somewhere they had cracked or "almost" cracked it and I'm wondering if it's because I have a 2015 it's just not available for this year yet.

I also read ECUTECH did somewhere but I've heard a lot of things ECUTECH "did" I've been reading posts from 2011 to present and haven't found reliable information. So if someone who is competent with current tunes please enlighten me?

**THIS IS NOT A WHO'S BETTER THREAD JUST A HAS VVEL BEEN CRACKED AND IF SO BY WHOM**

Thanks in advance,

Nef

yes, EcuTek has it all 1000% defined... Maps and Logging.

It would be nice if Ecutek had more end user capabilities, or any for that matter.

It's something that's being talked about.

Maybe I'll make a thread about it

John
