Uprev "Back to Stock"
Does uprev automatically store the stock map? Or do you need to save the stock map as soon as its hooked up before any changes are made?
Basically, looking to swap the stock tune on for a bit and wondering if I need to hunt down a ROM file or if its still in there somewhere. |
Did you tune the car yourself? You should have been a Stock ROM map.
|
It was tuned by a guy I know who is a tuner. Whom I can not get ahold of anymore. I do not know if he made it on a different map or overwrote the stock one or what he did.

Using the ROM editor you can download your Back to stock File for your ECU Part number. Then Flash the Car Back to Stock.
Doing this will Put your UpRev License back on your cable returning your car back to Stock. http://www.the370z.com/attachment.ph...1&d=1431096423 |
This is really helpful. But do I need to "download" it from somewhere or is it actually on the cable still?
Basically, could I do this without an internet connection? |

Where do I get the ROM file from? Can I go on Uprevs website to get it?

Gotcha. Trying this in the morning.
I can just save my old tune as a file and drop it back on later, correct? |
Ha. Funny thing is if u dont have the tuner cable, u cant download.
|
Wait. So I cant swap it back? I have the regular cable.

I think you'll simply need someone with a tuner cable to download it for you. they'll need your ecu number. After they download it they email it to you and you flash it back to stock and your license gets put on your cable. If you dont have the tuned rom saved now though youll be stuck and need a new tune i think. Uprev could send it to you too. I have a tuner cable but am just learning how to use it |
Try contactng Seymore4 on here he help me out :) .
|
Just PM me your 5 digit ROM (e.g. 1EA8A )
You have to get your ECU serial number via Nissan Parts dept. by giving them your VIN#. Once you get the serial number, cross reference your serial # to Uprev ROM Matrix to get the 5 digit that you need. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...d=0&output=pdf |
OP shoot me a PM with your ECU part # and email and I will send you the correct back to stock rom.
Just reflash that and you'll be good to go |
Plus + for Seymore4! ;)
Joe, I noticed you have been locking your etunes file from the kids. |

So I talked to uprev/Osiris and he gave me step by step on how to do this. He said I can do it with the regular cable/license. So I was excited to get home and try it but then I ran into another issue.
My cable refuses to connect to the car. Has anyone else seen this issue? I have had it connected about 4 other times and it always just linked right up. But now it just says "Not Connected". I seen I first used it on 4-08-14. This wouldn't be an issue with a time frame would it? |
Connect the cable first to the OBD2 connector and the other end to your laptop.
Turn laptop on and before opening any Uprev software such as Osiris or Cipher turn key in "On Position" (do not start the car) -Then open Osiris or Cipher. |
Either Im an idiot or the dongle is busted. Working with Uprev is incredible though.
Would anyone want to help me out and Ill send them my cable to see if they can get it to connect to their Z? I don't see how this thing went bad. I used it multiple times and left it in my glove department, then go to use it 8 months later and it wont connect. |

Maybe try a different laptop first? |
Already did. Downloaded the program and all. Completely started over and still nothing. I have ordered a new interface from uprev. 2 day air.

Now that I'm boosted I use the cable all the time to monitor things that my gauges can't read. It's always good to know what is going on in the engine of a boosted car. |
I did. I thought that was what scrambled the program since I used my phone as a hotspot to update the software. So then I downloaded it onto my work laptop and took that home with the same results.
Good news is that uprev's customer support is incredible. They say they charge $100 for tech support but I called them probably 6 times and they either answered or called me right back. There is a guy named Omar that walked me through everything. I also ended up ordering the uprev interface cable which will allow me to swap my license onto it. I paid for 2 day shipping and it showed up about 18 hours after I placed the order. |
Turns out it was a bad interface. New one works perfect. 1 month out of warranty.
