Any Suggestions on my Tune?
Hey guys,
It has been a long road for me but I finally got my Z tuned properly with the 100 shot of nitrous. One of my buddies was looking at it though and said I am running pretty rich and to see if they can bring it down to mid 12s. Or do you think it is just right b/c as you can see it drops down to 12's and high 11s while the nitrous is activated. How about the red line for the n/a tune? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

What are your mods for "red line"?

I got nothing to add from an AFR and Nitrous standpoint but your torque number when that bottle comes on is awesome. That's got to be a real kick in the pants
Just out of curiosity and my own education, would you not tune AFR for nitrous similar to a Turbo or SC car? My AFR's are in the low 11's when in boost. |

You blew 2 motors, now you want to lean it out for ten more horsepower? Id trust z1 over your friend, how z's have they tuned? Be happy, if i was making those numbers i would be.

Yes I have blown two motors. First to a bad tune. Second to Z1 which could not explain exactly what happened. I am merely asking the community if they see room for improvement. It could be only 10 more hp or maybe not. I'd like to use my nano kit in conjunction with my nitrous to keep up the bottle pressure but they "think" it is the reason the last motor blew. That is very debatable but I will not push further past their comfort zone. On another note they have done a great job thus far with the newly installed motor with my extra goodies and helping with the viper alarm system install. I am happy with the current numbers but to limit myself from further improvement to be on the safe side? I don't think so, drive it till it pops.

Some play it safe, some push the envelope. Nothing wrong with either, but without pushing it to the limit, one will never find the end.
very nice numbers v8

My tuner has tuned me and 2 others that had previous tuners. He also has tuned many from OEM. He prefers a rich car with timing. I picked up a lot vs my first tuner and AFR down to low 12's. I might even hit 11. Gotta find the sheet.
PS, you said your buddy said you where rich but then said bring it down to mid 12's. I'm confused. If you are rich you're already down. Did you mean up? Like right now are you rich at 12.0 but he wants 12.5? I wouldn't go higher than 12.5! But 12-12.5 should be a nice spot. For NOS I have no idea about the AFR. My old kits just worked it out for me.

I stand corrected. I picked up a lot over my old tune but target was around mid 12's. We also lowered timing a lot.

Thank you sir! My hope is to hit mid 12's on motor and high 11's on spray at the track but it will take some seat time and some good tires which is my next project.
