UpRev eTune

Hey guys and gals,

I've been searching on the tuning section but I have not come across UpRev e-tune. I was thinking of purchasing the standard Osiris with an e-tune. I will upgrade to the tuner once I go FI.

Right now I have the following bolt-on mods: FI CBE, FI TP, and Stillen CAI. The closest tuner to me is four hours away... Is the e-tune worth it?

The car is able to adjust to those add ons, because it relies heavily on knock censors feedback and adjusts gradually.

E tune will get you close to those right timing numbers and ask to adjust your A/F table in order to get rid of the low end low torque. Make it more torqurkier.

Maybe ull get an extra 15hp and 14tq. But still i dont trust it, i bought tuner up rev version and never looked back.

I think it is I have an ETune from seymore. I'm very happy with it. I'd try contacting him

The biggest difference is in who does the tuning.. etuning by a competent tuner who knows how to etune effectively can get you results that are way better than a dyno tune by a less experienced dyno tuner.. Just cause you're on a dyno does not make it a better tune.

:iagree:

But, every time I've had something e-tuned or road tuned I had to make full higher gear pulls on public roads to get data logs. That's not a brilliant idea. On a dyno you'll be doing it in a safe, repeatable environment. Still, it's 100% about who's tuning your car, not how you're tuning it.

Agree with Chuck but he only asked me to get a full 3rd gear pull, a 0-60 and a cruise log, which isn't that hard , I did get some 4th hear pulls but I used a dyno for those , even if you have no tuner around there's aways a dyno you can rent for short $$$ :)

I got mine tuned by Sebastian at Specialty Z. Is he good? ;)
Although that's a further drive than 4 hours for you...

I would say so. Even on a stock car it's worth it. If your going to pay anyways, why not sooner than later. Up until you go fi,you get to enjoy the tune in between as opposed to not having it. I'm actually getting tuned right now and have pretty much the same mods as you. I've driven around for about two weeks with these bolt ons without a tune and its a big difference over stock. Now I just started sending data logs and have had 3 different maps made and all I can say is holy sh:t,like night n day. And Visconti isn't even close to being satisfied.
You won't regret it man. Like these guys said, just make sure you shop around for a good tuner.

lol, I pulled the trigger...

bkngo 04-06-2015 07:53 PM

i'll let you guys know how UpRev's etune goes :)

I'll get a dyno after I complete the data logging and make adjustments... I will be happy with 315rwhp and 260rwtq on a dynojet... that seems to be the average for my mods...

So I got it today... It comes in a nice case. so it was super easy...

Part 1: Reflashing ECU
1. install Osiris.exe and Cipher.exe on laptop.
2. update Osiris.exe
3. download rom from UpRev (email)
4. open Osiris on laptop
5. plug UpRev cable to laptop and to car's OBDII port
6. press the start button twice to turn car on
7. upload tuned rom from UpRev to Osiris
8. reflash ecu (takes less than a min)
9. turn car off once Osiris instruct you to
10. start car to complete the reflash

Part 2: Data Logging (working on this)
11. open cipher.exe
12 select parameters (UpRev needs eight parameters for e-tuning)
13. select "next"
14. select "start data logging"
15. select "stop" when finish logging data
