The car feels a lot more linear no jumps or drops in the rev band.

Yes it's not live change on the fly tuning. I had that with my power FC commander and this blows that out of the water. watched him tune 8-9 second GTRs yesterday with this and he's currently working on flex fuel for our cars... E85 anytime no switches or hooking up to a laptop. Just pump from almost empty and go. Changing back to 93 octane is the same. I'll be dealing with John from now on.

This is good news. I don't know if your the first one with these features that's not a beta, but your the first to post this news on the forum!(unless I missed something) Ya,this is definately music to my ears. Thanks for sharing. I hope these features will be available through etunes.
Edit: just read that you can.

Yes from what I watched all he did was click a box on the tuning menu And it was done. Also changed the rev limit. Used no lift shift today without a single issue and it doesn't just stop it at red line. If it's floored as soon as you hit the clutch at any RPM it holds there 6k/7k/7500 doesn't matter just don't lift your right foot slightly being used to shifting without. I did this a few times. Right foot stays planted. Pretty much only good for racing or other very hard acceleration. But I love it. That with launch means in a straight line you don't lift until you're ready to be done.

Nice! How much was tune and cable purchase?

Merv 03-24-2015 08:12 AM

Through Visconti,it's 650 for cable and tune. Or you get custom tunes for one year and its 850. that includes cable as well.

So I just wanted to update this thread with what's been happening with my tune. Yesterday I got a call from John (Visconti) and we started on getting the initial tune going. I ran into a snag with my internet and wasn't able to finish it off til this morning. On my way into work I noticed the throttle definately felt better. I also took the computer in to work this morning to get some data logging in and did some more after work as well. Johns working on a tune for me as we speak. As for the features, they are all there and they all work great! I can't speak for other tuners that tune with ecutek, but they are available through Visconti.
I'll post more on my tune once john gets it dialed in. :driving:

They have a full service shop that does everything from oil changes to engine swaps, and LOTS of dyno tuning.

roplusbee 04-08-2015 04:40 PM

UPREV's shop is in Austin, TX. They can handle anything from full builds all the was down to simple maintenance.

Updates on EcuTech?

I am going to install a Motordyne CBE, ART Test Pipes, and M370 Intake manifold within the next couple of weeks and I am now in business to look for a reputable tuning shop in San Diego/ Los Angeles area. Does anyone have any suggestions on shops in my area? I would prefer San Diego Local shops but I am willing to travel up to Los Angeles or possibly a smidgen farther for a reputable and reliable tuning shop.

Also this goes hand in hand in my mind but since this is a thread about Ecutech vs Uprev, I would like to know if anyone has any updates on Ecutech. Are most shops receiving access to the extra features that were promised? Does anyone know a shop in my area that is offering Ecutech software with the new features?

btw just in case anyone cares I have a 2014 6 Speed MT/Base/Sport 370Z and have owned it for over a year and a half. She's got just under 20k miles on her, and its time for some Modifications! :stirthepot: :driving:

Call Sebastian at SpecialtyZ in Chatsworth. He one of the best tuners anywhere. He can give you insight on both packages.

So I will be dropping the White Dragon off tonight to Rob @ Topspeed Motorsports. They will be doing the change from Uprev to Ecutek... All of my tuning (93oct - Maybe e85) will be done in a matter of two days.

We will have a baseline on the uprev and then categorize the difference from switching tuning platforms. The car will be at Zdayz and I will categorize any and all changes here for those who want to see the difference from the two platforms and how they affect your final outcome.

Currently, we are making 853rwhp and 677ftlbs @ 20psi on 93 octane. This was done at Z1 Motorsports earlier this year. I expect we will see more power and consistency. here is a snap shot of our last dyno session at Z1 Motorsports:

I will say that I respect both Z1 and TopSpeed. They both tune great cars and I am furtunate enough to have had a great dilemma of choosing between the two. I support both shops.

In for this !!! Finally someone doing this

bullitt5897 05-12-2015 07:23 AM

So the car was dropped off at Topspeed last night. I took rob for a ride and explained an issue I had with partial throttle acceleration. Turns out with this large of injector the way uprev uses multipliers in the fuel tables and causes the closed loop/open loop transition to be very noticeable. Outside of that it was a good handoff. Topspeed will be raising the rear end of the car as the new kW v3's have settled a lot! Especially, over the last two days causing the r888's to rub the rear bumper. Once they raise the car they will baseline on their dyno and then proceed to pull my current tune and uprev license off. (License will be for sale cheap). Then on to the fun parts! I will be by the shop later tonight and will take pics/video if I can.
