You don't run it rich across the entire map, you only tune it rich and retard ignition when the throttle is closed at high revs Fuel is generally injected for a second or so before it is cut when you lift off, that's when the popping and banging can happen. And guess how much tuners here in Dubai charge to do that and make it seem like they invented a new ECU just to do that for you.

PS: Running rich (within reason) doesn't melt anything. It's running too lean that you want to avoid because that's when EGT's sky rocket and valves start melting on a boosted car especially. You actually tune a boosted car rich to cool down combustion temps.

I swapped out a few exhaust components a while ago and before the ECU figured out what happened, I was getting backfires surprisingly frequently. Funny how normal traffic stays the hell away from you when your car's doing that, but higschool aged kids flock to you. I take it everyone in Dubai is stuck in teenage boy racer mode?

Hey now I'm 20 and want pops guess I haven't grown out of it just yet.... But to me it just makes the car look so more aggressive and mean! I don't want one of those "flame thrower" type mods. Lol I just wanna tune it rich and delay ignition enough to get pops here and there. I hear pops with just my test pipes, but I don't think I'm getting flames. If I am they're not big or noticeable.

Talking

G3's, FI LTH's, 12" resonators, CBE, and tune. No flames, but I get pops, and crackles on down shifts.
