Maintenance for a Noob Z Owner???!!!

Hey guys I was wondering if I could get some help with a few questions about a Z. Its my very first own car and I want to make sure it gets treated the way it should be.

The Service and Maintenance guide is a good start, but have you tried searching for your specific questions first? If you ask what type of oil you should use, you're going to get crucified. I only say this because you started a thread about maintenance questions but then didn't actually ask any questions - not a good start :ugh: :icon17:

My :twocents: is dealers are idiots (with few exceptions) and your best option is to DIY or learn to DIY everything on the car you can get comfortable with. Just about everything you need except the actual tools can be found on this forum and/or in the Factory Service Manual, which incidentally can be found via a link on this forum.

Tru Tru thanks for the advise lol but I was wondering what would be the issue if there's a slight smell of burned gasoline ?

When you turn on the car or when you start the car? Are you in an enclosed area or outside? Does it smell like raw gasoline or a burnt smell?

check to see if you have test pipes

I take mine to the dealer every time for maintenance and ask them whats coming next i.e. brake fluid, differential, etc. Based on your miles and funds available you will know whats needed and can prepare for it the next time you roll it in. Your service history will always be there so if you are paying a bit more any particular service its worth it. Well to me anyways it is. At least in my area service maintenance costs are the same no matter where I take it and I have an excellent Nissan dealership to go to.

Its when I turn it on, its for a bout maybe 5 seconds and then it goes away. Im in an open space. I would say it smells like burned gasoline

I can't imagine what would cause a burnt smell when the engine is not running.
