Track recording set-up questions

I've done a few track sessions and am now wanting to get serious about recording without overspending for things I don't need. I'm currently running Harry's Lap Timer on my Nexus 7 Cubby Tablet which includes BT connection to OBDLink MX. I'm considering getting the XGPS160 receiver, but will my tablet BT connection keep up with simultaneous data streams from both devices?

Also, I'm renting GoPro at my next event to get some experience with it; but I will eventually buy one. It will be used almost exclusively for track recording and I think I've read that HLT only handles 720p video; so it would seem to be a waste to order Hero3+ Black. I want all of the features to make the recording most convenient and especially to be controlled by HLT; and would probably prefer to buy a used model.

Appreciate any tips from the community on what I need and don't need for an effective set-up.

I have a Contour camera that I used to make my in car videos. I have switched over to GoPro, no longer need it. $120 shipped if you are interested

I use my Android Galaxy S3 with the torque and torque recorder app. The apps connect to my OBD2 sensor via a $30 bluetooth connector I bought off of amazon. This works really well for video with a speed and rev overlay.
