That's optimistic. I have yet to experience this in a Mustang, S2000, Miata, 911 or a Corvette.
None of which I consider "Track" cars but can turn just as hard as the Z. Quote:
For me it certainly was a love hate relationship, the car could do amazing things but oh how it would let you down in other ways. Boiling clutch fluid is another neat trick that I've never experience in any other car on the track. |

How do you know if its truly fuel starvation? I only ask because, I was on the track this weekend and for the most part everything went incredibly smooth and after a nice custom tune from RT Tuning, I was shocked at how incredible the car behaved on the track...
That being said, on my second run out, with about a half a tank, I started experiencing what I thought could have been knock or timing being aggressively pulled. At first I though maybe limp mode but all temps on the car were great and nice and low and it wasn't happening at a static RPM every time either, so I ruled that out...Then I thought fuel starvation but the car never felt like it was going to die and it wasn't particular hard cutting off either... So I turned traction control off and I noticed that the VDC Off light & the traction light ended up coming on and permanently staying lit...I don't remember both being solid when I turn it off, just the VDC light. I thought that was weird. Then I tried turning VDC back on and it would not let me at all. I had to get off the course once my session ended and upon turning the car off and on, all was good again. So what was it? Fuel starvation or something 'stuck' with VDC? basically it started happening on the long sweeping right-handed carousel and the car would accelerate and out of no where, at any particular rpm, it would hit a 'soft' redline and it would just go brrrrrppppprpppprpprpppt (try to imagine that sound LOL) and then it would accelerate again and across the next turn while trying to exit, it would BRRRRRTTRTRTRTRT again, but very mild and soft, as if the car went from being supercharged to NA while hitting some artificial but very soft redline...the car would power through it and then boom it was fine the rest of the way. I don't remember doing it on any of the left handers, but I cant say for sure. Did I really experience fuel starvation and if so, why did TC behave that way when I tried turning it off and back on?

This was at Pocono Raceway, on their right handed carousel-straight away...North Course to be exact.

With the VDC on. It wasn't helping much. It will cut power when a wheel lifts or the rear starts to step out. With fuel starve. I've had it happen, and not kill the engine. Come out of the turn. The engine dies down, and loose power, then pick right back up after I jerk the steering wheel left and right to get the fuel moved back over to the right side of the tank.

I'm picking up a used tank for cheap, how much does your tank hold, 9-10ish gallons?
Also, how hard and long would it take to swap tanks? I'm thinking of cutting, and doing the plate/trap door idea, I think I can really get the best of both worlds with that...thoughts?

In another post. He said his cut tank holds 6.5 gallons.

Any recommendations on the trap door/baffle system? I'm picking up a spare tank this week, and would appreciate any input!
