Over the weekend, I went to an event called Wannagofast in Clayton GA,
It is run on at a private airfield, mile runway, you get to see how fast you can go in 1/2 mile.

My Z is stock, with Michelin Super Sport front 265/30 19 Rear 305/30 19, except for Nismo Tune sway bars.

I was just interested in what it would do in 1/2 mile.

Best time was 124.4469 miles, it was like a drag strip, but no ET's just speed.

I only just the first 4 gears, taking it to 7500 rpm's and it just ran.

It's the first time I had done this, tire pressure was 36 in front and 31 in back, just kept it there.

It was just fun to see that it like to run.

Yes, it is and they do sell out fast, I only ran on Saturday, it is a two day event.
there were 13 GTR's 4 Lambos, 2 2xx Z with v8s, viper, lots of vettes, etc

All I did all day was run, get in line, ended up with 7 runs,
Note: did have to wait an hour to an hour and half between runs, but it was a blast....

A TopSpeed built GTR did 202 mph!!!!!

I am too lazy to look...did you get an entire 1/2 mile run or was it less than a half mile on a 1/2 mile strip?

*Edit: Videos look like a full 1/2 mile. I'm so there.

Had a good laugh today, wannagofast posted the times for the day I went.

I laughed a bit 145.0677, WOW..... but never got a time slip with that best time slip was 124.4469

Yea they had this event in Austin a few months back but it was a bit pricey for a days worth of runs. 200 bucks?? I bet you had fun tho!

signed up to go again in May in Clayton GA,
but just found out they going to do South of Atlanta end of september,
wish I would have known that ....

1 out of 8 just happened to be 20-30mph faster than the rest which were relatively consistent with each other? And just happen to not have a slip for it?

Regardless, I bet it was a blast! Signed up for my first 1/2 mile airstrip this June and can't wait.

If you can't hit 150,,,you look slow on the track.

Wow, if you can have 7 or 8 runs it should be fun. In our local 1/2 mile event, we are lucky if we got 3 runs in a day which is boring.

I posted in a different thread before that I got over 130 mile when my car was stock. I shifted into 5th before crossing the finish line. Also got 125 in a different run. Then I stopped going and opted for road courses ;)

Ours is a competition and it is dominated by porsche as all NA 6 Cyl are in one class. So, I will not go if I cannot win and they will not give me enough run to justify all the fees and time I spent. At least I know how fast my car can do the half mile.
