Uprev apparently has also had issues over the last half decade of their main programmers going elsewhere.
YOU know what a license costs, lol
I bet they barely made their R&D money back. Retailers make money on UpRev

Yeah but the software is downloaded so they are probally looking at what, 10-20 bucks for a cable and the box? They probably make $300-400 from every schmuck that buys a cable for their half done software.

There really isnt a good solution for our cars, brz edit is like $150 and had 3 times the options uprev does the day it was released and is easier to use.

Well obviously the car hits ~155/160, there's no point posting those. That's where the stock ECU speed limiter kicks in. The question is mapping out drag limit vs available torque (a function of both engine and gearing) beyond that. I think the 175-ish numbers seem reasonable for a bolt-on N/A, I can't imagine much higher than that without boost.

Then again who cares really, it's just a meaningless game of immaterial numbers? Pretty much a non-issue on road-courses that I know of; I can't imagine hitting the drag limit on one. I could hit maybe 150 on a perfect day at the most ideal track setting around here I can think of, for a split second before slamming on the brakes again.

Getting up into drag-limit territory on the road is... risky at best without at least some cleared traffic and a radio spotter? Conscious visual reaction times are on the order of ~250ms+ (some researchers say significantly more since it's a Choice-level reaction on driver inputs), and in that time at ~170mph, you've moved almost 10 car lengths. That's assuming you even see the problem before you hit it (like a small rock in the road, or a rabbit jumping out). At least at the track you have relatively-predictable conditions and corner workers with flags.

Well it seems interesting to a few of us here about the possibility of hitting 200 mph since this thread is 5 pages long. It's just another challenge like any other speed contest that is out there right now. Yes it's obvious that our Z's limit at 155 but can they do more and do you have the balls to do it?

Do you have the balls to play Russian Roulette with another guy's head lined up next to yours? Does he get a say in the matter? The number of people interested in this topic that will actually only do it at an airstrip or the Texas Mile or something is a pretty small percentage.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, the math isn't hard. You're gonna drag limit around 170-something without boost, and higher with, and either way it's pretty damned unsafe without spotters and a closed course and medical staff on hand There's no responsible use of those speeds outside of specialized environments.

I think I once had it over 170 on a dyno... I could be mistaken.

I think this went off topic just a tad. No one should be trying this on the streets. A world record is set on a closed course in a safe controlled environment, just sayin.
