It isnt like any other wide body kit ! Megan Ver1.0 Wide Aero Body Kit.
I figure I might as well post something up into this side of our forum since not everyone look at every Journal in the Gallery section.
I was hoping in the very begin to be done with this project around May/June but due to some persnnal issues it got delayed a few times . Today was the day that I could finishing up this project to be able to drive the Z *Megan* After a 7 hours drive to go see some family, the kit is still holding strong and no issues so far ! The parts are made with different kind of Carbon fiber and Hybrid CF/Kevlar which I ran out of the Hybrid at the end but once the budget allow, this will be completed. The goal of this kit wasn't for some show & shirne or wheel to wheel racing but more into the Time Attack. Since this is only the Ver. 1.0, there will be more parts being made or modified in the future. I used my previous splitter from 2011/2012 which was considered quite big for the OEM bumper skin but now it is too small !! as well as the Kognition Wing which is only 68'' wide. For more current update if I don't post here ,, Look up One Man Team Motorsport on Facebook ! the diffuser fins are about 2 1/2'' front the ground .. a slight modification of them will be perform soon ... |

Really like it man. Some of the edges are rough and all, but you have all the right ideas. So many crappy post market kits try to "look" like what you are doing here, but this is the real stuff. Just smooth out some of those edges and I really think it is great.
Only question I can ask is if you are using flat head machine screws on parts. Can't tell from pics.

I did a better job on the left side since it was the second time doing it ! as well as the left quarter panel is a one piece 2 Vs the right side being a 3 pieces+ the gas cap panel. Ver2.0 will be CF only or mix of CF/FRP but it wont be before 2016. if that happen this quick to answer your question, the body work is held by Rivnut and half round head machine screw. the front bumper is a mix of Rivnut and rivets as well as the diffuser. Nice dude. I'm surprised you didn't post up a pic of you pulled over by cops for looking like a damn race car. You think you will be able to heal enough to get her on the track before the cold comes?

On my side of the Country I got lucky and avoided them as much as possible. I was almost side by side with one at a red light. I made a left turn there ! hehe I may be able to drive at the last CSCS.ca event in Cayuga on Sept 21. I really hope and feel the car on the track with that new LSD & body kit. My top speed on the main straight was 178km/h with the previous VVEL engine , I suppose I now have 20-30whp less at this moment. So I will see where I stand at this point. |
