315 tires, will they fit up front.

Not concerned about the rear as I'm sure they'll fit but up front I'd like to be able to run 315/30-18 A6's on my 18x10 +30 wheels. Anyone know if this will fit (and not rub) without having to use spacers. I know at first glance it looks like I have more than 10mm gap from tire to upright with my 295/40-18's mounted on the wheels in question.

Anyone have personal experience with this tire size and mounting?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Just figured the track/autox guys are the most likely to know this.

Can check clearance here.

Edit: Can check change in dimensions and go from there.

From running my 295/30r19 Hoosiers up front I can't see how 315 would fit, but then again I haven't done the measurements or had experience giving it a try.

what was the offset of the wheels you were using?

I've fit 275's and 285's up front on 18x10+34 (and you're 4mm further inside at +30). I don't get any real rubbing on the wheel well or fender edge at those sizes, but it's a tight fit. I do occasionally get some rub into my front brake duct hose (which runs along the inside of the wheel well and then comes out at the suspension).

IMHO 315 on +30 might be pushing it. If it works at all, it's going to be so close that it's really going to come down to what suspension components you're running and the alignment settings, and it's hard to know how that's going to work out unless you try it on your own car.

Yes. You can make any tire/wheel fit. I wouldn't run 315's on 10's, though. You need to go up to at least 11's to make them happy...

This was on the stock sport rims, no spacer, eibach springs and -1.6 camber

Got my hands on one from a local autoxer and had it mounted on wheel. Test fit was good, no clearance issues at all.

why youre fitting a heavy wide tires up front?

gomer_110 07-23-2014 06:50 PM

1st: More grip.
2nd: This is an extremely common size so hopefully I won't have to worry about hoosier discontinuing this size like they did with the 295/40-18
3rd: I have 1-2 very good autoxers in my region that run this size who can actually win new tires at national events. They win new tires, I buy a lightly used set of take offs from them to help offset the tire budget.

I have more 315's than I know what to do with...

Very jealous. See you in Wilmington for the tour and good luck at the Wilmington Pro.

I'll be there. Hopefully the Wilmington Pro is not a horsepowerfest like Toledo...
