Anyone ever play with Torque app!
So, just a few days ago I stumbled across TORQUE app. Even tho its been out for ever...but I never had a car worth putting it in. I bought the obd2 driver u need to install for torque to run. But, my god, I must say it's such an entertaining app. Has everything u need to play around. 1/4 mile times, 0-60, 60-100, cel on demand. etc. So far I've gotten 5.2 0-60 and 14.3....still not happy lol

I use a number of the OBD II apps, but not Torque (is that Android only?). I like many of them for them reasons you point out and others. I do some data logging and performance stuff. I don't know, but suspect that the quarter mile feature might have a bit of error around the measure. Probably fine for just having fun - I sure would like to believe I'm running well into 12 secs, but should probably get a track slip before making any claims :)
FYI, I got a right angle cable for better placement of my ELM327: http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/19/4a5ugama.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/19/gy6a8yju.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/19/avu7ugad.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/06/19/9y2edera.jpg |

I have used the Torque APP on my android device for 2+ years. Recently traded in 350 for a 370 Nismo. The OBDLink MX reader (Blue Tooth OBD reader) works even better. Fast refresh rate, nearly real time on my 370. Even displays AFR and a real read on engine temp, not a useless dot. Configured to suit your monitoring needs, I find it an invaluable aid while driving or tracking the car. Data logging is very useful, it can be directly uploaded to the internet for later perusal and analysis. Just my $.02.

Hmmm. That does look cool. The $15 Elm327s can be a bit slow to connect and clunky.

I use the Torque Bluetooth on my Android (rooted, custom OS) and it is instant once its connected. It even has the ability to add Nissan specific PIDs which is nice.

Pids?

OBD-II PIDs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Essentially a parameter that you can watch in real time via OBDII. |

I use torque along with adv addin for getting oil temp, here's an example of it being used
370z Quarter mile 12.841 at 108mph: http://youtu.be/H-5aqyEaXIM Btw: the 0-60 seems pretty close but the 1/4 mile compared to slip seems off by about .3 to .6 all the time. 10mhz and 5mhz gps settings tried. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk |

This is just guessing, but it seems intuitively satisfying (which is what really matters at the end of the day). |
