First Autocross w/Z
Hello all,
This past Sunday was my first event in the Z. I am still a novice driver and this is my first season hopefully if my life schedule allows it. I participated in C-Street and finished second. I got the fastest novice time of 43.6 seconds and lost 1st by 4 tenths. I scored a 961/1000. Below is the video of my fastest run. Sorry for the smudge on the camera case. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPilktVuWGs |

Basically a good job, but two things you can work on...
Keep working at your slaloms (your second was better than your first) but just because you make it around one doesn't mean you shouldn't keep setting up for the next. You seemed to get one done and sorta point at the next one instead of keeping your turn going a bit longer to help you set up...I am pretty sure I could have made it through those first offsets at near full throttle! Second, the two right hand turns that you almost stopped (it seemed haha) both could be taken at a SLIGHTLY higher speed and lots of time to set up for the next turn in both cases. Both are very much beginner "learning the ropes" mistakes and will be better with more confidence in the car. Try to go along on rides with people who place high in the standings and see how they do! Cone proximity was actually pretty good on the side the camera showed.
You were too flat into that hard right. That made the turn tighter than it had to be, and you seemed to set your speed for that turn as if you thought you were on line. Those two factors led to that momentary "plow". What other vehicle(s) have you autocrossed? |

Great job for novice! You have nice aggressive style. Now need to work on smoothing out and not overdriving slow stuff. You can also carry more speed in fast stuff by smoothing out inputs.
