mocal vs setrab oil cooler
The mocal oil coolers are much less expensive than setrad or other clone.
Is there a reason to not use the mocal?? |
Most people buy premade kits and they always seem to use the Setrab. You could piece together your own with a Mocal core. They make good stuff. It seems like most of the kits are using a Mocal sandwich plate.

IMO Setrab is a better oil cooler than Mocal. I've had one Mocal oil cooler leak on the side. Another one would never stop leaking at the fittings. I had yet another one take a rock and leak all over the engine bay almost starting a fire. So far no issues with my Setrab plus it isn't that ugly silver that Mocal uses.

I went with build it yourself for this following a DIY on the site.
34 row setrab have all plumbing except lines. Trying to decide on SS or plain black hoses. So far a couple 100 less than a kit but still have the lines to buy or make. project in progress slowly. |

I used the SS on my oil cooler install and prefer the sarlite much better. Here is the link for my install http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...er-delete.html maybe something useful in it for you. |
