Some questions for you autocross guys
I am looking into purchasing a Nismo/sport 370z very soon but have a few questions regarding these cars.
1. Looking on auto trader there are a lot of Nismo's for sale with right at 20-30,000 miles, what, if any are the "bads" of these cars, any issues that arise mechanically? 2. This will be primarily my autocross car, what is the max negative camber you can get out of these cars stock or with using eccentric bolts? 3. Using stock size rims and stock height what is the max front tire size you can get under the front without rubbing?.. im hoping to get 295/35/18 on all 4 corners using the +/- 1 inch diameter rule this year. If not could one get 295/30/19 up front? 4. Has anyone ran both a sport and nismo 370z, the pax difference is about .4 on a 40 second course from BS to CS, does the little extra the nismo have make that up? The nismo has a slightly larger rim width but can you actually take advantage of this up front? 5. Leg room, this i can solve with a test drive but my girlfriend and i are both about 5'8 and my current car is a little small with leg room for the passenger. Thanks for any help, if I should move these questions to another section please let me know and i will do so. |

Bad - ice mode braking issue and high oil temps is you get a car without optional oil cooler . Although unlikely to be an issue if you only use car for ax. Camber challenged but Z does ok without tons of neg camber compared to others. Just put toe out up front. I forget what camber I was able to grab with stock but it wasn't much more than -1. No Nismo isn't worth pax hit in stock. Sport in c stock much better. 295 upfront no problem. Occasional run on plastic skirts but not bad. Leg room ok

DEpointfive0- yes i figured not 285 35 18 on the 19" rim, but if downsized would that much tire and sidewall fit without issue was the question |

For front camber you probably want the SPL camber arms - they'll go as far as you need and can adjust caster as well (unless replacement upper camber arms are against scca rules?) Most 18" wheels fit over the Sport/Nismo brakes fine. The biggest problem I've had with front tire width is not rubbing into my front brake ducts, but you might not need front brake ducts for short auto-x sessions anyways. 275/35R18 (on 18x10+34 square setup) doesn't destroy my ducts, and I know others have run wider than that up front.

Camber arms are illegal in SCCA street classes and due to the spherical rod ends on the SPL arms there illegal until you get to the SSM.

To answer your question directly, there is no approved method via the FSM to "correct" camber issues via concentric bolts...like other cars. You have what you have which is about -1 degree up front.
