7AT Launch RPM and VDC

I ran a search on this and found someone with a 6MT says he launches at 3500-3800 rpm. Seems kinda high to me. A member with 7AT says he launches at 2000 rpm and I found another thread where someone recommended 1800 rpm.

I haven't been too hard on my car yet so I'm not sure if torque braking will even allow me to hit 3500-3800 (my last car would not do more than 2500-3000).

I have two questions:
- What is the ideal rpm to launch an automatic Z?
- Is it best to have VDC on or off during a drag race at the track?

Just trying to get the best times without experimenting too much and hitting oil temp issues f'in around. Thanks in advance.

Ive praticed a few times and so far the best is about 1800 VDC off, prepare to shift quick-these things go thru first gear in the blink of a eye.

1 Keep it under 2000
2 Vdc definitely off
3 mash it and blip at 7300
Always make sure of were your going to push it. Only when it's safe to do so.
