Some noob questions about drifting
Howdy,
Thought I'd help out some fellow forum Z owners with some questions to release their anger if they had a bad day or what not. Not very serious but think about attempting once in a blue moon at a autoX or something. But how would a stock base 370z fair on minor drifting? I understand mods are needed, like lsd, and suspension, tires etc. But i'm sure drifting started like everything else, like boxing bare knuckles to boxing gloves. I just wanna get the jiffs of drifting but I don't wanna hurt the oem suspension and bushings if its going to. Basically is it possible to attempt drifting on a base and learn the basic concept even though peg legging and rolling is involved? My bad for the question but thanksfor any replies good or bad |

And damnn does it waste tires. How would midgrade street tires last in maybe like 3 hours of sliding sideways. Also without the necessary mods will the cars chassis really beginn to twist?

Absolutely Just be sure you take it to a closed track
The more serious you get and the more frequently you do it the more likely you're gonna find limits in the OEM components and wear/break them. VDC_OFF has been drifting for a while, and I just saw a recent thread by URA who seems to be pretty serious about it. There's definitely some good stuff on this forum for you

Yeah figures. I dont have the money to buy it all in one swoop. I'm already looking into LSD's. People say Quaife LSDs are pretty dope, and something about 2 way or something. Seems Z1 is pretty popular.
Guess I'll try it one time one of these days and see if I learn something without damaging the car. A lot of people are saying i have to go faster into a turn to make a drift without mods. Dunno if thats true or not. I like grip class but drifting sounds like some adrenaline rush fun |
