GT6 GPS/data logger/Visualizer
Anyone know more about this:
Gran Turismo 6 previews GPS Visualizer - Autoweek Via GPS data logger you can recreate your session by uploading it to Gran Turismo. Sorry if this is old news, I am not the video game hipster I was 10 years ago. This would be absolutely fantastic to have. Any word on something for the Z? |
I searched for when they are going to release it but no data. On the gt website it just says it's in a future update. I'm sure they are just working out the bugs and/or licenses since it is supposed to use sat imagery for the course. I will be excited when it comes out though, my base has a killer road on it with banked turns and straight always. Plus use it to practice for auto x and tracks that they don't have in the game, lime rock and Thompson.

OK so log into GT6 today and it says I can upload gps data. Doesn't say anything about format or brand or anything. So can a Qstar data be uploaded into it? Or is there any specific brand of GPS device that it needs that outputs into a specific data format?
|
I tried gpx format and it didn't recognize it. Damn it!!! I am going to poke around more to get to the bottom of how that works.

Previous press releases commented on the FR-S only

And only for tracks already in the game...

Figure anything out?

Nothing so far, I figure basically we will need the format that the FRS outputs first. Then it's just a simple matter of writing some code to translate X data output to one that the PS can read. I can probably do it and publish it as some sort of web service, but I would need someone to give me the file that it can read so that I could transform different formats to that standard.
