autocross..need help with GOPRO 3+ black

This weekend I went to my first ever autocross. I made few videos with my new gorpro camera. When I try to upload the file to youtube, it will not process it. Its a avi file which is supported by youtube. Anybody who has more experience with gopro camera and wanna help me out, it would be great.

What does the msg says on youtube? It processing might take you hours of time if file is too large. Its lot faster if its in mpeg4/h.264 format

Fyriza, the go pro records as mp4. I assume you imported the footage inot the go pro studio software which takes the mp4 and converts to avi. I think you may have either skipped the 3rd export step or exported as avi. Avi is uncompressed and is very large. You will want to use the youtube pre set in the software or export as a mpeg2 or .mov file to get the best results.

Youtube accepts a bunch of different codecs the mpeg2 and .mov have worked well for me.
Hope that helps

You are absolutely right. I don't know why but I totally ignored and never clicked on the Export portion. Thanks!

Heres my best run. It was really windy so the sound is not that great. I meant to participate in autocross since forever but finally did it. Controlling that 513whp 387wtq beast wasn't easy.

You say the sound isn't that great, did you use the skeleton back case?

fryzia23 04-06-2014 09:09 PM

the one with 2 openings right? then yeah

Get a fuzzy external mic from amazon. I put mine by the rear plate and it sounds awesome. Nice run too!

That's what I did too. I cut a 3"x3" piece of foam. Sliced a hole in the center. And put the mike in there. ;)

Good run man! I fixed the video embed. NNJR is awesome! I was there on 3/29 rainy hell! but couldn't do 4/5 bc I did evo school 4/6. 4/6 nnjr had test and tune too.

Yes, as rusty said, add a external mic. Difference is unreal. I mount mine right above the rear fog light as rusty has it. Gopro by the front bumper next to hamburger, skeleton case, mic right above rear fog and here's end result (if you only hear in one speaker, buy a mono to stereo splitter from radio shack for $2)

run from last year:

Sounds really good. I'm thinking two mics, one for the exhaust and one under the hood to hear that s/c working

AK370Z, On saturday it was really windy and working the course sucked, I can't imagine how bad was during the rain. Was the evo school worth the money? I was thinking about doing it but decided not to.

Took your advise and bought external mic and placed it on rear bumper, right underneath of license plate. Is sounds awesome!
