I was at a meet with a bunch of motorcycle riders and some that I race with and a lot were asking about the 370. When asked why I chose the auto my response was easy...first it's an incredible auto and secondly consistent low 13's mean it's not the fastest thing on the road but will hold its own nicely.

Congrats on your run...looks like you could probably even improve on that since that was only your second run.

Nice driving! It looks like Car & Driver ran a touring model without the sport package in their test which yielded a 13.1 quarter mile time. I thought the tires and rims in the sport package were about the same weight or lighter than stock?

2009 Nissan 370Z Automatic - Short Take Road Test :driving:

The 19's have a longer rolling diameter which make it better suited for road courses, on a drag strip...the stock 18's will equally match the 19's even though the 19's have a 275 tire.

When I used to drag race my Supra we used to run the 16 inch RX-7 rims, the smaller rim will actually change out the gearing in favor of torque and while you'll lose some top end due to a smaller diameter the bottom end response and better 60-foot times were a marked improvement which translated into faster times.

i forgot earlier to point out that the base model Z 18"s weigh less, and the spare tire weighs less too

You are running the AT. You don't even need a left leg! And, you can probably drive with just one arm! THINK OF THE WEIGHT SAVINGS!

Very good run for a stock Z. This is very close to the posted times that various car magazines have seen. Good time slip proof.

Congrats on the nice time. Nice to see a competent driver behind the wheel of a 370Z. Have you drag raced other cars in the past? Pulling a 1.9 60' on street tires isnt an easy task.

The fastest I have run in my 6mt base + sport was last night i ran a 13.363 w/ a 1.925 sixty foot. As soon as i can get to a scanner i will submit it. I had 20's on it too lol.. wonder what I could have done w/ the stock rims..
