I didn't believe it either at first but research it. They even talked about it in car and driver several times.

The wider tire increases the contact patch from side to side but decreases it front to back. I know it sounds crazy but you can google contact patch to learn more.

It does not take to be a scientist to understand this. I just don't understand why some people argue for something that makes sense. The wider the better grip but more friction = lesses time on the strip.:ughdance:

Here is a few sites that reveal more information than me simply saying yes. ;)

In physics something that makes sense is not always right. :ughdance:

Great driving man!

Nice driving! It looks like Car & Driver ran a touring model without the sport package in their test which yielded a 13.1 quarter mile time. I thought the tires and rims in the sport package were about the same weight or lighter than stock?

Hey, I just got back from getting a custom exhaust job done by Tom at One Stop Muffler in East Chicago. He said he has a buddy who just ran a 13.1 with his 370Z...it's gotta be you, right?

Yea! That's me and I posted on ur muffler delete thread and talked smack about his shop and I was just joking, they do great jobs on cars. I was just busting his balls but ur car sounds great man! Have u heard tom's exhuast on his s4?? Sounds sexy as hell I love the V8 rumble!! I wanna hear ur car in person. Im thinking of getting the FI exhaust but I'm strapped on cash cos I'm actually going to tom's cousins batchelor party in vegas at the end of the month. I want somthing temporary for the sound cos the stock exhaust is too damn quiet!

I bet just removing the stuff in the hatch will be enough to make 13.0, if not into low 12's.

I need to take mine down to the local strip - I've got a G3 intake.

You're gonna love the sound. Let's meet up one weekend and you can check it out. I'm going to be in Lombard tomorrow and I live in the West Loop. Where are you?

You'll get a kick out of the sound our 3.7L V6 can produce. Be forewarned that there is an unpleasant range from 3800-5000 RPM though that can be a bit ear-shattering inside the car. Outside it's all sweet music but there is a harmonic in that range that's just beyond the comfortable listening level.
