I think you are moving in the right direction. I am still searching for a Hotchkis front bar and a Nismo rear. Seems to be the best balance from the more experienced racers.....

Had an interesting thought. Earlier this week I was working on a friends 2009 g35x. We were intalling new sway bar end links and bushings on the front of his car. Noticed that his sway bar is significantly bigger than the one on the front of the Z. Has anyone tried the sedan sway bar on the z or know if it would fit.

Looking at the thickness of a bar means absolutely nothing.
1. Is it hollow or solid? 2. If hollow, what is the wall thickness? 3. How far from the pivot point are the ends? 4. How far from the pivot point do the endlinks hook up? 5. How thick is the bar (lastly!) There are other small things, such as metal used, bushings, etc... But those are some very important parts. Geometry plays a far more important part than just thickness of a bar. For example, (and I don't know the answer to this) I know that everyone says that the Hotchkis bar is the thickest, but I believe is it also longer from the swaybar mount to the endlink mount. I have a Whiteline and am VERY happy thought it is "only" 27mm...but it has a much shorter arm length. What you REALLY need is the motion ratio...IE how many lbs to flex the bar one inch. THAT tells you truly how stiff a bar is. We really need that information to truly assess which bar is the stiffest... Tracy Ramsey |
