A thread that encourages people to go from 50-100 mph on public roadways isn't a good thing. And before you go complaining that this thread isn't encouraging that, I will point out the thread title makes an appeal for everyone to post their numbers. Knowing that not everyone will find a closed road to do this safely, the thread encourages exactly that
well it is in the track/strip section so it kinda covers it's bases there. lol

well initally i thought it was we ran at a constant 50mph then got on the gas to hit 100mph.

then i found out it's a free for all when syno posted his vid of just timing his 50-100 while going WOT from the get go.

users choice i'm guessing.

Thanx man I thought the same do 50 MPH in a a 1-1 gear like 5th ? But guess at can do 50 MPH in 3rd and jam it. Ok I just want to make sure do this right. After Noah finishes his ark and the rain stops I'll try this maybe Saturday on the way to or from the dyno.

i feel we should implement a standard so to speak of how we do this for consistency.

like 50mph roll in 3rd or 4th then smash the gas.

i will be doing a full pull and then seeing the time in the vid of 50-100 just so i can beat scotty lol

50 mph roll in 4th??? That's not going to work out well. IIRC, 90 mph is about the upper limit in 3rd gear with stock gearing (according to the FSM).

Well, I was wondering about 2nd. If you're going to do a full pull, you'll probably be in the upper RPMs in 2nd when you hit 50 mph. So you'll have to shift to 3rd and then probably to 4th as well before you get 100 mph. Dunno if 2nd gear at high RPMs plus the time to shift to 3rd would be better or worse than being in 3rd at lower RPMs to start.

not sure but i feel that you'd be real high up in the RPMs of 2nd where it may be worse to start there. not sure without testing it though.

In 4th I can get 120+ more like 125 ish, My 3rd get me too 100 ( Like 99) These are starting at 2500 RPMS, I think that's like 40 MPH forget what the MPH is.

But agree we should make a starting point, Like 4th gear 50 MPH and jam it

just something for consistency.

i can do a full WOT pull and be faster than a TT guy starting in 4th. well maybe not sure depends on spooling and other factors but you all get my point lol

data can be skewed if there isnt a consistent and constant procedure that is followed.

If you're comparing how fast the vehicle is, why would you want to deliberately start that test at such low RPMs that are way below the powerband? 4th gear makes absolutely no sense IMO. At least in 3rd gear I believe you would be around 4K RPMs at 50 mph.

**note** I am speaking to NA vehicles here, not FI.

Consistency is the 50-100 mph speed range. Counting the timing via the inaccurate speedometer and a video will skew data accuracy anyway.

I would say just do it as fast as you can. Try out different methods if you want. Either way it will be a poor mans result without proper timing equipment.

I know the 2500 RPM is below our power band more in the 3's but these where for tuning purposes and was just stat the MPH and gear I was using. I'll do 3rd gear is fine with me, The 99 MPH is more like 105 or so, my speedo is most likely wrong with my 20's still on the car

its in the description. it needs to be done the fastest way possible. 2nd to 3rd or 4th works depending on your redline. start low in 2nd and go.
