went to Atco Dragstrip tonight-curious had too

Tues night I bought & brought home my 2012 base with 1,100 miles on it. Wed. I drove the car. Thurs. I took it to a dealer for Synth. oil change & some work.
Friday/tonight I went drag racing.

Got there early. My first run was a no run. I stepped on the gas at 1,500 rpm & the car spun out & went sideways. After that I slowly went down the strip, came back right to the starters. WTF? Oh the guy before you spilled fluid all over they said. They decided to clean that lane after that. Seems like T & T on a Friday night the track doesn't get much prep/care.

I drove my car right through the center between the two lanes & water burn out puddles & into the other lane. That lane was dry. I held the brake, reved it to only 1,500 rpm, then pushed the peddle down at medium speed.

2.010 60' & 13.137 @ 106.12 mph. Not bad. Next run I pressed the gas peddle a bit quicker, plus the guy before me went through the puddles/water & dragged/brought water right up to the starting line. My tires chirped a bit & I ended up with 2.234 60' and a 13.360 @106.07 mph. Cooled the car a bit & in the next run I forgot to turn the vdc off. ='d NO RUN. Next and last run, same wet areas that forced me to press the peddle at low rpm & with care. 2.185 60' 13.292 @ 107.76. Mid to finish line, the car was flying.

I got the feel of the car/got my answers & went home cause 3 hour ride:(

Now I will post my times tomorrow, but because I asked the dealer to do something to my car. I now regard as not fair for me to go on the ALL stock list. Next spring, drag radials, test pipes & a tune will put me in the 12.6 @ 110 mph to 12.8 time range. At that time I would be glad to get on the bolt on list. I'm NOT replacing the stock intakes & staying with (except for test pipes) stock exhaust, Nissan stock muffler and all. :)

Went tonight cause raining Sunday.

I bought an automatic. So far I learned that I need to put the stick next to the letter D for the car to move forward :icon17:

Just a tip for next time, Pull the brake fuse

Yeah. Basically you can't do a traditional burnout where you'd use some brake to stay in place without pulling the fuse. 7AT guys also need to pull it so they can stall the torque converter for a better launch at the drag strip.

I never looked into pulling the brake fuse out

because I installed a "line lock"? It held the front brakes locked while the rear brakes were disengaged & permitted the tires to spin & heat up.

I believe taking the fuse out also permits the rear tires to spin. Now I never checked if its a rear fuse or a fuse because I had no need to. You still need to lock the front brakes so the car doesn't move forward. Anyone know if there are 2 fuses(rear/front) or I'm missing something. This way I don't have to go to the car & look through the manual:)

Good times! in for future results. you should try picking up a Stock Nismo Catback, it flows better than the Non Nismo catback. and I personally think its a little deeper. Maybe it could help you out just a little bit.
