How to run 1/4 mile, First time

Remove jack and tools and anything else for weight savings. 1/4 tank of gas saves weight over a full tank. Bring a helmet. Pay race fee. Go to tech inspection.

Park your car and walk up and watch where people are lining up and where the water is that you will want to drive around. And where you will be stopping to light up the 2 sets of yellow staging lights. You will need to pay attention to the track workers that will signal you on when to leave the staging line and move forward, and when to get on the track. Line your car up straight and slowly creep forward until the first set of yellows lights up, and a couple inches forward for the 2nd yellow lights, then hold the brake firm as you are ready to watch the lights and go. You should have the VDC switched off, and the trans in manual mode. You can just stomp on the gas and hold it to the floor the whole run. Watch the lights and try and go in time with the last yellow lighting up just before the green. Try and shift at exactly 7500 but no later as you may end up hitting the rev limiter. After your run slowly come back on the return road and pick up your time slip at the booth.

For a noob, I wouldnt pay attention to reaction time at all. Go when youre good and ready and pay no mind to your reaction time. You see green, go.

So after all the advise in the end I ran a 13.27 on Micheline PSS and very proud of it. Since it was 43 degrees it helped to do a burn out believe it or not. I almost went into the wall on my very first run ever. So for best times do everything everyone else said but keep your RPM's at 2k so u can get an awesome jump. If u feel urself slipping just barely let off for a millisecond and get back on it. By the 4th run I was doing great. Thnx everyone for the advise

Good to hear. It sounds like you had a good time, which is most important.

A break down of your slip would be great if you could upload it. If not, the just list:
60'
1/8th time
1/8th MPH
1/4 MPH

I have mods. I got intake, exhaust, oil cooler, sways, tune, and new tires. So ya it's quite a bit of mods in her.

That makes a little more sense, but still impressive nonetheless. not a bad 60', but if you could get a low 1.9 high 1.8, you would be very boarderline 12's. Sooooo clooosssseeee.

He can hit a 12.9 EASY seeing at his reaction time was technically .5th of a second. Hmmm intruiguing I'm gonna reduce weight and hit the track as I hit 13.4's but no weight reductions -.-

People still don't understand that reaction time has NOTHING to do with your ET or your MPH.

So your saying if flujoke's reaction time is a full second he's still going to hit 13.2????
