Cold weather tire pressure for autox
I have another autox on Sunday and while it will be warmer in the afternoon, the morning may still be in the 50's. my last one was in similar conditions and I had zero traction. Tires are Advan AD08. My pressures were 35 front, 36 rear. Should I increase the pressure to around 40? The tires never got warm at the last event.

Last April I did autox in Hartford ct in similar conditions sunny but cold with same tires. I dropped the pressure down to 32 f and 30 r. And had better results 2 secs and way less over steer. I also turned my front wheels so the sun beat down on a majority of the tread. Start with stock psi then go down by 2 and work with that.

I will try this, have another one this Sunday. Missed the last one since I had to be responsible and study. Understeer was a big problem too, it was understeer into imediete oversteer but having an open diff may be an issue too ...

Yes on certain turns I was pushing a lot especially on increasing radius turns. I also have a base too but cold street tires suck reguarless of having an LSD or not. Make sure to take an instructor too the first few runs. It really helps and they can give good advise on tire pressure since they have ridden in the car.

The people who I normally ask advice were not there, it was a light turn out so I just ran with with summer temps hoping the tires would heat up. Slight mistake but I learned a lot.
