Conti challenge: Laguna Seca

at it next week and our return trip out west.
2 races to go for the 2013 season.
Its been a mixed bag of emotions this year as the new developments on the car have proven to make the car extremely competitive... But only one podium ....
Kansas Speedway was def a great track for our Z ...hitting the banking flat out pulling over 1.7G's a 150+mph was fun.
Now back to Laguna seca where we lead last year and again seemed to have things going our direction till contact with a BMW going up te hill move us back.
Looking forward to once again battling a low grip track in the California sun.
Did somebody say 1:33's?
;)

1:33's is moving! I'm back home now, I'll def tune in

You should have braking advantage. Seems like you have closed the gap on power to weight. Still a long haul from 11 over hill down to 2 and from 6 to top of hill with power cars around you. If you get out in front you should do great. Who will be driving?

I always laugh when I hear people say sunny California when they are going to fog capital of California. Coldest time of year in Monterey is often June through August sometimes into early September.. You could very well be treated to cold drizzle.

1:33 sounds about right for a goal. Randy Pobst put a street legal 2013 ZR1 corvette and a Street legal 2013 Viper ACR around the track at 1:33

I so want to go to this, grandma's 80th surprise party ironically enough back in Ohio. I'll make sure Ohio is OK while you are gone, keep an eye on Cali for me that weekend-and let's win this one ;)

See you there! I'll be at the track all weekend.

Correction. There is no Viper ACR for 2013. ;) He did it with a Viper T/A. With slicks. I think it went 1.31. Hopefully the ACR Viper is out in '15. :yum:

Our 2013 spec tires have been about .75 to 1 second quicker compared to 2012 spec... Last year 1:35.5
It will be a tough race for sure.
Brad J. Is back for the last 2 races.

Hopefully the monkey fines a bar someplace. Getting drunk on his a$$, and forgets to show up.

Correction he did the 133 in was the viper TA, i dont keep up with all the viper designations, however he was on DOT R tires not slicks. Still ripping fast for a street car on street legal tires.

Track is hoooooorrible.
34s are not an option at this juncture.

ChrisSlicks 09-07-2013 07:55 AM

No grip? Greasy track?

Good luck out there.

Shamu 09-07-2013 06:38 PM

Actually ended up P5 as the Aston that took pole got sent to the back of the field for an infraction (didn't have traction control disabled).

Dwnshift 09-07-2013 11:37 PM
