Do y'all think it is safe to mount shoulder straps of a race harness to the factory crossbar? It appears plenty strong.

DO NOT USE THE FACTORY BAR FOR HARNESSES. The factory bar is only mounted to the chassis with some flimsy brackets. If you remove the interior panels you'd see this.
One option is the Robispec harness bar a few of us have. It eliminates the flimsy brackets and mounts firmly to the chassis. Here's the thread: Robispec Chassis/Harness Bar

I believe that shoulder harnesses must be mounted to a bar that is shoulder level. In other words, the harnesses must go straight back once they go over your shoulder. They cannot be anchored at an incline or any more than a minimal decline.
