Hmmm anyone have thoughts on running a square setup with the stock Rays for autocross with this tire? Kind of tempted to pick it up. I'm also going to be doing some track days from time to time.

Can't find any information on the tire, much less where the sale is :/

Maybe he means ZII as it is on sale at Tire Rack.

Oh yeah ZII, whatever the stupid name they use now. Hard to type on the iphone with autocorrect

Re-11 still less expensive.

cossie1600 08-14-2013 10:07 PM

279.99 for RE-11 at Costco. Firestone price matched.

Strapped a set of 265/35R18 onto my square setup (18 x 9.5) for the Philip Island 6-hour relay 2 weeks ago and came away mighty impressed.

Purchased here in Melbourne for A$450/corner - you guys in the US are so well served price-wise .....

Weather was atrocious - teeming with rain for my final session, and no aquaplaning until 175-180kph which was brilliant (the tyres had only been scrubbed and had very low wear so tread depth was "as-new").

Hmmm really, in 285 35 19? Maybe I do need to get 4 new ones now

Jordo! 08-15-2013 07:44 AM

That's a good deal. I just ordered a set at tireack after a chepaer dealer said they were out of stock.
Go for it -- near max grip in dry and excellent grip in wet. Overall, very good summer tires.

DLo 08-15-2013 09:34 AM

I actually like both tires, but went with RE-11 because of price and proven capability. They come in 275/30-19 at that price.
